Laser Jammers

Does anyone have these? Are they legal to have?

What kind is the best one to go with? Sounds like they could be pretty handy.

According to Radarbusters.com:
The use of a radar detector in a passenger vehicle is legal in all states with the exception of Virginia, Washington DC. and on military bases.
Radar detectors are illegal in all commercial vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds
In Canada, the only three provinces that allow their use are Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
Many overseas countries also ban their use, such as Portugal, Finland and Spain.
In areas that radar detectors are illegal, law enforcement use a device called the Spectre that is able to detect the use of radar detector in your car or truck. For more information on the Spectre, click here.
Laser Jammers and Radar Jammers are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC.
If you decide to use a laser jammer in one of the states that they are outlawed, consider getting the Blinder M-20 or M-40 or the Lidakek LE-30. The Blinder and the Lidatek are the only laser jammers made today that give minimal "error codes" to the police laser guns.

YES! I have both and I cannot dream of driving without these centennials on my side! Some of the early & cheaper jammers use to give outrageous readings (200mph+) making the cop furious... glad those days are now over.

I have the Blinder M47 X-treme laser jammers. I have yet to install them because of a lack of funds so they're brand new in the box just sitting in my room. I'm totally oblivious to electrical installation and diagnosis hence why I would pay a professional to install the m47's.

I did alot of research on here and watched some youtube videos of the M47's and It received a lot of great reviews. I may think about selling the m47's and upgrading to the new Blinder HP-905 jammers.

check out http://www.blinder-xtreme.net/ or email blinderguy@aol.com

That's the guy I ordered my M47's from.

Legal to have? Not sure.
Legal to use? Not in the USA. Unless this is outdated: http://transition.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Wi...6/da962040.pdf

ETA: Just realized the question was "laser jammers". I assumed it was "radar jammers"...which is what I was replying to.

Question

[QUOTE=AkaSigFreak;5235967]As stated earlier:

"Laser Jammers and Radar Jammers are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC."[/Question how do the police distinguish between the laser signals emitted by many collision avoidance and other accessories with these illegal laser Jammers? Note that both the police and car accessories use the same frequencies and in some cases the latter uses some of the same emitters as the so called jammer.

Will they start pulling over everyone with these primarily laser based safety systems?

In the US, the States listed have enacted Legislation prohibiting the use of Laser Jammers with most penalties a simple fix-it ticket:

California
Colorado
Illinois
Minnesota
Nebraska
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas
South Carolina
Utah
Virginia
Washington DC

Good answer.

How does the law define a "laser jammer."

Affirmed by the court: A collision avoidance apparatus is sine qua non a so~called jammer.

Chances of getting caught using laser jammers are slim, if you use them correctly. If your laser jammers alert, and you keep speeding without turning the laser jammers off, you will get caught in a state where they are illegal. The proper way to use them is when the jammers alert, promptly slow down to the speed limit, turn off your laser jammers, let him get a reading of you at or very close to the speed limit. Then turn them back on after you pass him.

The best laser jammer is the laser interceptor. I have personally tested over 100 cars with different laser jammers. Blinder is coming out with a new laser jammer that may be as good as the laser interceptor. The current Blinder i would rate as fair.

Yes spectre detects radar detectors, not laser jammers. Radar detectors are legal in 49 states.
