I have gotten up to 32.1. If you baby it and keep the speed between 55-60mph should do well over 30mpg

I've gotten 31 mpg on a 70 mile trip going 70 mph at 11 pm, so it was around 58 degrees.

I drive about 15 miles to work and I average about 25-29 mpg, sometimes more, on my commute to work. A LOT more if I resetted it on the highway.

I drive SLOOOOOW though. Right around 52-55 mph.

Does this get better as the engine gets broken in? I just got a new c300 and its still pretty bad. Seems like I am averaging under 20mpg.

You beat me

31.9 is my best. No ac, running 75-80 with cruise, except on downhill where I would speed up and let it coast uphill. Still not bad for 75-80!

Anyone higher than 33? Under what conditions did you pull 33? My mileage seems to have gotten notably better after 20k...

See what I just posted above. I believe so, and would like to hear other accounts to verify this.

i just happened to borrow my mom's 2008 c300 this past weekend because i was going on a road trip 5 hours each way and didn't want to add the miles to my car....i got 30.something mpg the way there and 31.9 mpg on the way back. i was probably going a steady 80-85 the whole way except there was a lot of slowing down/speeding up weaving through traffic passing people. i thought that was the norm for the car though. she has about 40,000 miles on her car.

Really interesting. I think there is a sweet spot for these cars, being that they sort of "lug" in 7th at anything under 75 or so. I've pondered what my mileage would be running 85-90 with no AC on, as it's not lugging at that point, and still not turning 3k. Some combo of gearing/hp at that RPM/drag coefficient. My car definitely gets better MPG at 75+ than below 70.
