Alignment Question on 2011 C300 Sport
I recently put new tires on my 2011 c300 sport. Rear tires had abnormal wear on the inside edge. Has it been documented that the alignment specifications changed from the factory setting for the rear tires in this model?

LOADED 08' C350 & 14' GLK-350 Diamond White (P1, MM, AMG Pkg, Ln Trkng, Htd Sts, Keylss Go)
i got 30k on my rears, just changed last week...
also had stupid abnormal wear on inside edge... and the tires and suspension and wheels were completely 100% stock
would a camber kit fix this?

I tossed out my OE ContiProContacts long before they wore out, so can't report on eveness of tread, but sure was glad to get better transformational tires on the car!

Best to have an alignment check & then you will know what needs adjusting & by how much. My rear tyres on the 220CDI were worn out ( evenly) by 35,000 km & I am a gentle driver.

We have seen camber wear on the inside edge like you mentioned on some cars that come in for alignment. I would have to check with our tech on specs to be exact. We just posted a group but on K-Mac camber kits to help with this issue and get you more tire life. Still looking for interested buyers.

Re Camber Kit, I was just told that my 2010 C300 needs this, as I was having the alignment checked. I just purchased the C300 used last month, and the dealer installed brand new Michelins, which I wish to ensure have a long life - thus the alignment check.
Was told my passenger side front and rear camber is out. Driver's side is good. Weird or what? What is the cause? Did previous owner hit large potholes on passenger side?
This is my first German car, and I was pretty shocked that a car with only 25,000 kilometres - which is about 15,000 miles - needs a part to allow it to be aligned. Never ran across that with my last three Cadillacs.
Having it done tomorrow morning.

My car is fine - and it did not need a camber kit. I was told it did by a medium sized tire shop, where I am buying winter tires, and thought I should have the alignment checked. I wasn't entirely comfortable with their assessment anyway.
My local Mercedes dealer sends alignment work to another local dealer who has the high-tech Hunter alignment rack. Met the tech who does all the Mercedes work, and his machine said I don't need any camber kit whatsoever. He says that Mercedes may occasionally need them, but not very often, and it is his experience that camber kits don't usually do that much good. He was able to set car exactly right, and also corrected a mild wander to the right, which he says is common in the C300.
Moral of the story, don't trust the first guy who tells you that you need a camber kit. Find someone who does lots and lots of Mercedes alignments.

Any chance of getting hard copies from the before and after readings from the alignment shop or MB ?? We could paste them on an existing gereral alignment thread with several alignment readings. Thanks.
