my sunroof stutters. i took it to the dealer when it was under warranty was fixed in 5 mins. now, i'm out of warranty... am i SOL? do the dealers do the work for free or do they charge?
or is there a DIY?
i searched on the forum for a bit.. but mostly said take it to the dealer. or resync according to the manual. but resync does not work.
i guess i can call the dealer tomorrow to find out but any insight on this topic will be greatly appreciated.
for i'm sure lots of people are on the same boat with this issue.

You probably just need to clean and lube the tracks really good with some wd40.

Agree except the wd40 part - I will try to find the literature on this, but I read somewhere that MB recommends a more specific grease for the tracks...worth the few extra bucks to do it right.

WD40 will work to free it up and ease operation in the mean time.

Disregard the years, this is the same grease you will need.

I had the same issue today :-S for some reason this morning the temperature was at 55 degrees and now my sunroof stutters when closing. The issue doesn't happens when opening.

+1 good guys there and works great after a few years its amazing how much a good cleaning and lube can do.
