Jimmy was talking to me, knowing my skills, and not making a general recomendation to people that don't know what they are doing. Replying to Jimmy, who I already noted that he knew what he was talking about, I said I liked his idea of cutting a coil off. He knew what I meant, as I agreed with him. Perhaps we need another "happy icon" that states "owners, this is a professional conversation, don't attempt what you are reading here"

To see the actual number of people here suggesting that it's ok to do so, is scary. I hope those that are dishing out this info are actually qualified to do so.
As I recall, only Jimmy and I have talked to each other about cutting a spring. I am a professional Mechanical Engineering Consultant that has designed suspensions and fabricated sway bars to my spec's, and Jimmy is a shop owner who has related knowledge that equals mine. And for the 100 replies and thousands of views, only 2 or 3 people did not read carefully enough to understand this was not a general recomendation, including details on how to do it. So I say, once again, get a grip you 2 or 3.

He said the front dropped 1" . The sport will perform better as a stiffer spring than the SS. If you like the SS look better, buy it. The reviews were posted.

exactly 1 inch from top of tire, to the fender lip at top. IT DOES NOT LOOK THE SAME AS STOCK the SS make the fenders look like they are sagging on the wheel, unless you have 20's, or riding the streets is what you are going for. With the Sport springs, from eye level the fender lip is about 1/4" above the tire which is perfect IMO

The sport are defenitly stiff when going around a corner, or when you hit a bump at 50mph or above on highway, but normal speeds I don't notice a difference in ride comfort

ok now I see slight difference in front... very slight...

SS in the front doesnt look like sagging, only in the rear when you use the smaller spring pad...

I am in process of putting stock spring pad back... it may be good with sport, but make sure u keep in with super sport!

If you consider 1 full inch "very slight" than yes very slight

2012 C200 CGI
Just had some H&R sport springs installed on my 2012 C200. OEM spring was slightly more than a 3 finger gap, after the install it was just under a 2 finger gap. The ride quality for me,felt slightly 'bouncier' than stock but softer and smoother over bumps. Running on stock shocks atm (only 6000kms on the car) will post pics after a few hundred miles when it settles.

initially wanted the SS but they don't have them here, and couldn't wait anymore on 4x4 status to have them shipped from the states hehe

Lowering a W204 C200 Kompressor 2009 Avantgarde Australia

Hi All
I have read the entire threads on this subject
My understanding is that the C 200 Classic has the highest suspension standard and my model the W204 C200 Avantgarde and AMG have a lower suspension standard ?
What would be the best H&R springs to fit Sports or Supersports
Wheels AMG 18 x 85. and 9.5

car ATM

C200 Kompressor
I just fitted some very nice C63 AMG 19 wheels
The trouble is i am having a little rubbing only on left hand side front tyre and its not the guard its where the guard and say bottom fender join theres a kind of point inside the guard towards to top front where it sticks out inside a bit , it appears the left hand side wheel is closer to the guard than the right hand wheel by about 5mm the exact problem
I have ground a little bit away inside but its still not fixing the problem
Any advice ? can i put some pads on the front to raise it up a tad ? again its the car this should not be happening and the RHS is fine so maybe its been in an accident ?

ill take a photo tomorrow
