Is the W204 oil filter the same as the W203?......
Got a bunch of Mann oil filters for my 2003 C32...........but it's time for the wife's 2008 C300 to get an oil change. Wondering if they were the same filter? Would love not to have to get more. Thanks.

According to Mann's website as well as Amazon, the same filter can be used in both: HU 718/5x.

The paper filter from the W203 V-6 and the fleece filter for the W204 are dimensionally identical but the fleece filter is required for extended oil changes.

After I traded my 2001 C320 (good riddance) for my 2008 C300, I had a couple of paper filters left over which I used for the first few changes in the new car since I change oil at 5K miles, still Mobil 1.

Just yesterday a friend brought his '99 CLK430 over for an oil change (using my Topsider) and the car's 4.3L V-8 uses the same filter.

I make a lot of short trips so I change it early and consider the extra expense inconsequential.
