2013 C250 tranny service ?

How many qts of tranny oil are required to perform the proper 40k service on 2013? Is there a TC drain plug?

TC drain plug or not?

If for some reason, MB stopped putting the drain plugs in the torque converters in later W204's it is news to me. The drain plug can be hard to find on some cars, as the torque converter has a steep angle near the plug, and you really have to look to find it.

Have either AkaSigFreak or Ben'sBenz used the MB Startek EPC with your VIN's inputted to see if they list the drain plug as applicable to your model? If not, I would be happy to check for you if you want to PM me your VIN number. If EPC lists a part number, then the car does absolutely have one.

I thought there were several members that did the service on their W204's and drained the converter?

Maybe Glyn can shed some light on this, but something doesn't sit right with me, as I have yet to find a 722.9 equipped car W/O a drain plug, and I have done many. I know there was some very early S-Classes with 722.9 that didn't have the plug, but that is all I am aware of.
Hi there, sorry to reply to such an old thread, but I have been unable to find this information anywhere else!

I am looking to have the transmission service done on my 2008 C350 4MATIC and was wondering if I have a drain plug for my TC or not...

Is there anyway I could send you the VIN number of my vehicle and you could check through EPC for me? I would do it myself, but MB doesn't like Canadians having access to EPC without a US credit card

Thanks in advance, hope to hear back from you soon.

i just got this service done for my 2012 c300 4matic they did not drain my TC now I'm fighting it they did everything in there power to deny they have to do this. I call MB corporate Canada they emailed me and cc'ed the dealer they must do the TC. basically the dealer lied..... i would say call corporate talk to a service specialist get them to email the work order sheet to you so you have proof and don't waste time like I have to proving them wrong it cost me 380$ Canadian now i have to go back and get it done all over again.

there is a thread by BIL he can check your vin and send the information of your car to you if your nice lol

as you see I'm Canadian to and i know Mississauga won't do the TC either so be informed before you go is your best bet.

Hi there newmbmarko,

Thanks for your reply.

I have a very honest indy I deal with here in Kitchener/Waterloo area. He has been in the business for over 20 years and specializes in only MB and BMW.

I spoke with him over the phone this morning and he was just explaining that if I do have a TC drain plug then I will require about an additional 3L of transmission fluid. Unfortunately he was very busy so he was unable to check EPC for me today, he said he could on Monday... But I am impatient at times and that is why I am trying to figure out if my car has it or not today haha.

He is charging the following;
$310.00 plus taxes if I don't have a drain plug.
$400.00 plus taxes if I do have the drain plug and require the extra fluid.

These prices seem fair to me as the local "stealership" has quoted me $499 plus taxes...

If you ever are in need of an indy who is just as good or even better (honest) than the "stealership" let me know and I can PM you his details.

Thanks again for all your insight.

one thing that made me go to the dealership even thought they ****ed up the job is the horrific picture of mangled transmissions after going to Indys. Id go to an indy for something like breaks or oil but not the heart of a benz.

like look at this one someone sent me

Call MB USA get the vin checked and tell them to send you the workshop order they can't deny you than lot of pain in the *** to do it but if you want your car a while get it done its better leaving only 1/4 of the old fluid than 3L.... 3L just F's everything up

You know you can sign up on the EPC-net Online for free. Then you can put in your vin number and get all the information about your car. And you get to see diagrams of the trans and see if you have a TC drain plug. here is the link: https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/home.jsp

I use it all the time it gives me part number and I can see where a part is and how it goes together.

I was charged $420 for the 40k transmission service (got it done at 34k). They claim they DID drain the torque converter. This is at MB of North Haven in Connecticut.
