New C350 Pricing
I finally got around to looking at this forum even though both my wife and I have had our Mercs since 2010! Been busy I guess. So my current ride is a C300 and my early lease turn in is coming up at the beginning of the year. I want to release the new C350 sedan, but I'm finding that almost no dealership carries stock in this model. The two dealers in my area definitely do not. Plenty of C250's and a few C300 4Matics, but no C350's. I'm wondering how this will play with price negotiations? Will I be able to get the dealer to move much on the pricing and will it be a better deal if I order one from the factory rather than let my salesman search around for one already in the states? I have no problems waiting for an ordered car as I love my C300 and I'm not in any rush. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I'm also devastated that they dropped the quartz blue paint for the C-Class in 2012. My wife hates it but I love it!
On a separate point, I curious as to why they are offering 4Matic on the C350 coupe and not the sedan? I'd love to have the option on the C350 sedan. With the 302hp six the 4Matic is a very attractive option. Very disappointed that you can't get it for the sedan. Coupes are off limits per the wife!

Daimler seems to be happy with moving C250s but not so much with the C350s. As far as what's going on with the models for 2013, I've attached the dealer ordering guide in pdf format. Note that yes, there is no quartz blue but the diamond silver from the CLK of the past is now again available (diamond silver is a blue silver.) Also, Distronic Plus with Pre-Safe is now available with the C Class as part of a driver's assist option package.
And ECO start/stop is on the 2013 C Class (except the C250) although you can turn it off (but each time you start up the car since it defaults back to start/stop.) This hints to the idea that Daimler is pushing the C250 to comply better with CAFE rules and may be why the C350 is being limited in the dealer allocations (at least here in the US.)
btw, here is some insight into the auto manufacturing industry's allocation scheme:
