Roof Spoiler Fail???
Well, I ordered a really nice painted roof spoiler, and went straight to the auto body shop to buy genuine 3M to install it. I even used the adhesion promoter. It only held a couple days and then one side started to lift. So, I thought back to when I had my BMW and I bought a roof spoiler from Bimmian.com and they included Pertex A6000 adhesive (worked fine before). So I found some, cleaned the spoiler and glass, applied the adhesive and things looked good. Even this morning after 36 hours of sitting still, everything was ok. Well, after lunch I checked it out and the darn thing is coming loose again? I don't think I will be able to get it off without destroying the spoiler though? I think the overall contour of the spoiler was just off and it wouldn't lay flat no matter what??? Take a look...
*This morning that was completely flat and flush to the glass.

Think you can better use Silicone glue / sealant (dont know how to call it the right way
)
Had done my prev car roof spoiler and had the same prob.
Carlsson always deliver this with the roof spoilers .

Most likely the air vents underneath are either covered or blocked. This will promote warpage of the wing as the air inside and the wing heat up.... causing it to twist and lift. No glue will help that.

That's an interesting idea? If you use an adhesive wouldn't it pretty much seal out air from the center? I thought those holes had something to do with the molding process?

Yes, these holes serve both purposes. Did you cover them up? Leaving one open should do the trick. But is the wing plastic or fiberglass? Plastic will twist more than fiberglass will. Sadly, your wing may be permanently damaged, as heated plastic tends to "remember" it's new shape once warped no matter how strong the adhesive.

Well, it's ABS. I bought it from one of the vendors on here. It doesn't seem to be that far off when aligning it on the back glass, but maybe that 1/2'' or so that it needs pushed down to be flush in the culprit? It was like that when I got it, and the double sided tape nor the A6000 seems to hold it?

Send it back. It was made wrong from the beginning. ABS plastic will warp even more when heated as it expands. Trapped air will not help either. Try and get them to replace it. Just explain your situation. Worth a try.

I used 3M VHB tape on my roof spoiler and it has held up reasonably well.
I used a very wide tape (I think either 3/4" or 1" wide) and covered about 80-90% of the surface of the spoiler underside.
The ends has lifted slightly over time (about 1/8" gap at the most) and the tape has lost some of it's adhesive strength after being exposed to the elements.
I just replaced the 3M tape at the ends (about 6" to 8" of it) about once a year.
I don't think my spoiler had any vent holes in them and it's plastic.

Well, no luck. I think when you buy knock off parts you run this risk. Paint quality was great, but fit obviously wasn't. I would just caution others from ordering this item from JBSPEED.

An unfortunate turn of events. I think most of the history on this forum will show good experience with JBSPEED. The spoiler I bought fit perfectly and the paint was spot-on. He had been very good about customer service. Try communicating with him before giving up. It could well be that he got caught by surprise by a quality issue at his supplier.
I have been in the minority, but I have long been railing about not relying on 3M tape, based on my experience with adhesives in the auto industry. My deck and roof spoiler are both attached with a bead of urethane in addition to the tape. Those spoilers will not dislodge.
