Changes from 2010 to 2012 C300

It looks like I will be adding a 2010 C300 4matic to the stable as soon as I find the Mars Red color my wife is insisting on. I wanted to ask about significant changes between the 2010 and 2012. I think the 2012 might have gotten a minor face lift which I am not too concerned about. I am mostly wondering if command with Nav is about the same. Info on any other significant changes would be appreciated.

alot has changed on the w204 platform in the 2012 year. Do a search and the full list is greatly discussed. As a quick summary, tranny update, full interior update, front exterior update, rear lights update and more

as for the command nav, the 2010 is adequate (I have a MY2010 C63 and use it extensively). Obviously the map in the 2012 year will be more updated... but you can just pay the update fee.

and lastly, i totally understand getting the colour your wife wants. My wife was the same thing, the only colour that appealed to her was the carneol red, so we ended up ordering a new one cause we couldnt find it. happy wife = happy life GL!

Having 2 of virtually the same car seems quite boring if you ask me...

I upgraded from 2010 -> 2012.

The major updates are mostly interior I would say. The COMAND and the multimedia console were updated. For instance, 2012 headunit and screen are different and no longer use pop-up screens. Additionally the 2012 uses SD Cards instead of PCMCIA of the previous generations. The steering wheel was changed as well.

There are quite a bit more things in the interior that are different but I just can't remember them off the top of my head.

Thanks, I do appreciate the info and will do some searching as well. I hear ya on the wifey thing. My wifes two main criterion for a car purchase is color and cup holder count. I could probably bring home a Mars Red SLS GT with extra cup holders and she would be ecstatic. Unfortunately I would go broke though or I would have already done it.

Sorry for the confusion I created. Just comparing the two.

Sounds like this could be useful for someone who will use BT phone, voice and NAV a lot which the wife will. Thanks!

If my car wasn't almost paid off- I would have traded already.

The biggest difference NO ONE has mentioned is that the 2012 C300 4-Matic has a 3.5L V6 (detuned version of the C350 engine) and not the 3.0L V6 found in the 2008-2011 Model Year

I prefer the fog lights over the leds so I think 2010 is the best looking year, especially with the smaller mirrors. while the 2012 headlights are nice, I think they look better on the coupe than on the sedan.

and I thought the detuned 350 engine will be in the 2013 c300 4matic, not the 2012?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think the 2012 still retained the 3.0L while the 2013 got the 3.5L

Edit: never mind, just saw the post above mine.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the info a ton, but now you got me thinking 2013 so I can have Eurocharged slap a tune on that bad boy like I have on my SL55. Wifey would not have to know.

That would be sweet. I have thought about that a bunch of times because I would love to have a C63. The problem is winter driving. Wifey needs 4matic.
