New To MB
Just purchased a 2011 CPO C300 Lux--love the car. I noticed the temp display is usually off by 6 or 7 degrees. Could this be due to engine heat? Where is the sensor located?
I went into this knowing service prices were high for routine stuff. I'm wondering and would like a few thoughts on this: Have MB do the oil change at each10k, trans at 39k, BF each 20k, but opt out of the A/B service otherwise or maybe just a "B" at 39k with the break fluid/tranny.
Would anyone see any warranty issues with this? Just looking for opinions. Also, the dealer said they can install Sirius for 1300.00. I have read the threads on this but plan to check at a local audio shop for their opinion as well.
I think the CPO is the way to go with these cars, especially at 1.99%.
Congrats on the new MB! Not sure where the temp sensor is located but mine is generally withing a couple degrees of The Weather Channel, etc.
Not sure where you got yours but MB of Buckhead offers the A service for $99. If pushed RBM will do an oil and filter for the same.
You can search the threads for common problems on these cars but from most accounts, they are more reliable than the W203 that came before them.
I am new to the W204 group myself. I should be pulling the trigger on a late model C300 sport soon. I am just learning about the W204, but can tell you that Mercedes legendary reliability slipped a bit in the early 2000s. They launched some new models designed to regain that reliability everyone expects from them. The W204 is one of those models and so far, it looks like they nailed it.
The MBW community is awesome. Everyone is super helpful and respectful of each other. As far as CPOs go, I could not agree with you more. I have owned a number of MBs and have never bought anything but CPOs. I tend to keep my cars for a long time too so I get tremendous value out of them.

If you can do most of your own services (perhaps not brake fluid or trans change) you can save a bundle and as long as records are kept, your warranty cannot be effected.
All of the filters (same as dealer) can be bought in the aftermarket for huge savings and watching the sales for Mobil 1 is also a good idea.

Of course if your local dealer is charging $150+, it makes sense to do your own wrenching/spanning.

Looks like about sixty bucks plus shipping if they charge for it.
BTW, a MANN cabin air filter (yes, it's the combination version) was $16.58.
Filters from autohausaz.com and the oil from NAPA, on sale.

I only drive about 8K a year so now that my warranty is about done, the biggest advantage of having them do the oil change is the years worth of free roadside assistance should I ever need it.
