Need advice on B1 service for my c300 sport 6 spd.

FYI: ive been looking into this as it was intriguing to me, and you are right, we do not see many manual trans cars. My foreman has consistantly been ranked within top 30 techs in the nation per mercedes and has many qualifications in this field. i sat him down and grilled him and he insisted no trans service on a manual. Period. It does indeed use a different fluid. part # 001989260310 its about $26 bucks a qt. i happen to stock 10 qts of this stuff (no idea why as we never use it) but we are a very large dealer. I would venture to say most do not have it. I would get a refund from the shop that insisted you perform that service. Only thing i can think of is he/she felt silly for not paying attention (i would know look above! ) lol and didnt want to backtrack on her words.

Fire out... at least wrt the fluid that was put in. The part number is indeed manual transmission fluid. There are apparently multiple OEM part numbers.
Part number 001989260310
OE Numbers 001989260310, 001989260310, 97333005001, 001989840309
Brand Genuine Mercedes
Part type Manual Trans Fluid

Every document I have from MB says, "not". But, we await with interest the response Doanster gets after having it done by his dealer, per a supposed "recommendation".

I VOTE NO. Im certainly no the know all to end all. ten years MB experience in dealers and all my resources and techs say no. if it aint broke dont fix it, especially when youre told not to

I never got a response from MBUSA after I submitted the post-service Survey where I left lengthy comments regarding the transmission service for 6MT cars.
I just took the car in for (early) A3 service last Friday since I was at 49.9K miles. Wanted one last look-over before going out of warranty.
Anyhoo, I specifically told my SA that post B-service, I called the other local dealership and their head tech said the service wasn't needed. My SA said that after my vmail from a couple months ago, she specifically talked to both the service mgr as well as the head tech and they both stated it was still recommended. She said that they "don't take these things lightly" due to the customer service reprocussions. She did re-admit that it is not documented anywhere, though. At the end of the day, it probably isn't required, but it I gave the go-ahead so can't be PO'd I guess...

What are they doing on your vehicle? That sounds way too steep dude! Are you getting a transmission flush for $2000? If yes that also sounds too expensive and make sure they also do your TC.

$1000 for service B??? Are they crazy? My car is having the same service B as yours and they are only charging me $650. For comparison my GLK's service B is $725.

So you are indeed getting your transmission flushed. I will say stop and read the problems we people here on this fourm are having and pay close attention with the number of quarts of oil they will took out or will take out. It should be more than 9 quarts not around 5. If it is just around 5 then they did not drain your TC (Torque Converter) which is one of the culprits for premature breakdown of the W204 auto trans.
Tell them to look for a drain bolt on your Torque Converter and get it drained. A transmission service here in Vancouver will only cost you $410 so why $2000 for yours? Even if they drain the TC for another $500 it should not go even close to $2000.
That dealership is rapping you!!!
