I'm not sure if I would ever lease a car, and I don't know how many in this forum are leasing actually... I don't know how I would feel with it because the car won't be mine, so I wouldn't spend too much on it.

Anyway, I won't ever leave the engine die like the guy in the vid did.

NAPA. Google it.

But that was last year. And not 5W30. And, 0W40 does not come in the 5 qt. jug.

My wife would say I just found a good place for already being a bit eccentric!

I was also celebrating finding an opportunity to agree 100% with RLE!

There are no fleece filters available for the M271. Does anyone know about the M271 Evo filters? I had two different dealers tell me that there was never a fleece filter for the M271 and they always used paper.

As for distortion or anything, no, no problems here. I use Mann paper filters and Mobil1 0W-40 and run 13,000 mile intervals. Oil last analyzed at 120,000 miles and it gets a great report. I have an analysis ran every other oil change so the next one is due at 146,000 or next month.

The previous V-6 used paper because the fleece version had not been introduced yet. The paper and fleece filters are dimensionally identical and are interchangeable. When I traded my 2001 C320 I had a couple of paper filters left and since I do 5K mile changes I used them up in the C300. I then bought a quantity of fleece filters from Autohausaz.com.

Fact is, my friend JB's '99 CLK 430 V-8 uses the same paper filters the W203 did.

Walmart is a possibility.

I would use fleece for my car if they were available. So far, the paper ones work just fine even on long drain.
