Bubbles in fresh tint normal?
Hey all,
I just had my windows tinted recently and noticed there are a few spots that don't look completely flat or have a small pocket of air in it. I was told that streaks and hazing dissipates afters a few days, but whhat about bubbles?? Thanks!

Streaks and hazing are normal until the tint settles (about a week later), but bubbling isn't normal. I had bubbles on one of my windows and the place I tinted it at came with a lifetime warranty, so I had it redone. Sad to say, there are still bubbles there (seems to be caused by the suede that line the windows) and I plan to get it redone, again, when I have time.

Does anyone have a bit of bubbling on the outer edges of the rear windshield? I'm talking about the outline of dots that surrounds the rear windshield. The dots are black and there seems to be this hazy outline to them now, as if the tint isn't sticking on so well in that area.

I had to go over the outer edges of my back window with a squeegee about a week after the tint job was done. It got rid of most of the outlines that were around the dots.
No issues since.

Does this look normal? There's some pretty significant hazing around the rear window matrix and I don't think that's how it should look...

I had my two previous cars tinted by a shop, never had any bubble when new and a few years after. I read somewhere that bubble can be let out if you poke it with a really sharp needle, just poke a little so the tiny hole will not be seen.

Hmm.. I might give that a try, but I don't think those are bubbles. It looks like the tint is just not sticking to the dots, thus creating a bunch of space around them of white haze. I tried pushing down on it to make it stick better but that only helped a little bit.. Does this look like something that'll go away on its own? I'm fearing it's not and that I'll have to have them redo it.

make sure they take off the glue with a solvent or ammonia mixture and not with a razor. I had mine redone because the tint shop ****ed up and they took off the glue with a razor.... tons if tiny microscopic scratches on the glass that catch light like crazy under certain sunlight conditions.

ya... on my brand new less than a month old car too.. No one else notices them but me haha, if I bend down and catch them in the sunlight you can see a lot of them. Learned to not care anymore haha.
Also be wary if they are ripping out the tint on the rear glass. There is a very small possibility pulling off the tint can damage the rear defrosters. Happened with my friends VW way back in highschool, but I'm not sure how out benz's will stand up to tint getting pulled off. Check with the tint shop to confirm or better yet have them guarantee it won't mess up your defrosters because that is going to be expensive to replace. If they won't then I would reconsider having your rear tint redone just for a small bubble.

The rear window on my CLK looks like that around the black dots & printing on the glass. I think some tints lack the elasticity to deform adequately around the raised dots & printing.
