dude, I like the boldness of pulling something like that... but it looks tacky in my opinion
the side profile picture of this car on those wheels looks just like a civic or toyota to me, dont take offense, just nothing to me makes it look like an mid range expensive car like benz or bmw or audi etc.
Reminds me of what my friends did to their toyota camrys in high school
Probably cus I am not familiar with stance scene for c class

but thumps up for the bold air suspension mod, must be pricey

@rb23lb - I would never take anything anyone says about what I did to MY car as offensive because it is just that, its MY car
I don't drive like this nor is this the lowest it can go. I still have to play around with it. I'll post more pictures later in a different thread but I'm sorta busy with other things and also working out the kinks.
Haters will always be there. It never bothers me though.
I do agree with some people though that says the wheels look small. Will keep them for a bit until I decide what to get next. Either 18" reverse or 19" step lip will probably be my next set up. Also a little more aggressive offset than what I have now.

I think cars dropped like this look odd, broken, unattractive, and as if they would be horrible to drive. Someone, many years ago, arbitrarily decided they think lower looks better and some other people decided to agree. This simply sounds like the same principle that drives trends in the fashion industry.
I don't hate them or the people who modded them. Can't it be left at that we just have different senses of style?
And FWIW, my vote is Function>Form, although in the 80's we first said it as "Form Follows Function".

Your old photo was a great find. I guess that supports the idea that "Everything Old Is New Again", per that old song title. The width of ties, lapels, the height of hems all vary cyclically, so automotive trends can come and go as well. Regarding the trend to lower for some, there was also this in the sixties and seventies.
So, some do "go both ways" over time! I like the (stock) middle.
In the pictures as well as my sig though I am running 5mm spacers in the front and 3mm in the back. Picture set up is +40F and +32R.
I recently reverse mounted the fronts again, took out the 5mm spacers, and replaced the 3mm spacers in the rear giving my current set up +30F and +30R.
Wheels themselves are F: 18x9 +30, R: 18x10 +35.
I am currently debating whether to get some 18s in reverse lip (non step lip) or 19s in step lip. I am considering 19 in reverse lip as well though. At certain angles, the wheels look small.
EDIT
Examples:
These were taken last night. Here in my opinion they look small.

Here I think they look perfect.

That's why you could just push the button and raise the car up

If I could drive it this low I certainly would. There isn't much room when lowering it. The tire is practically touching the fender well. Turning would probably cause it to hit the fender. I have it tucking tire when I want to just cruise. To be honest, it rides better than my coilovers with the dampers set at 6 (12 is stiffest). I had it higher than ride height once and I took a turn pretty good compared when I was on coilovers. The company who created actually races with these in their mini cooper.
Anyways, going off topic. Like I said, you don't have understand what I'm trying to do. Probably wouldn't change a thing even if I explained it.

looks awesome.
