Exclamation W204 OEM Sunglasses Holder Installation (Replacing Driver Side Grab Handle) ?

So my OEM Black Sunglasses Holder came in the mail from eBay Germany:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz...d=378525656912

Now, before I go break some clips - Can anybody please advise me on how to install this myself? Any tips or tricks in yanking off the old grab handle and then replacing it with this sunglasses holder? Any special tools required?

Any advice is much appreciated!

Thanks
RB

Pull the existing handle down. You will see a plastic cover on each post where it meets the car. You need to use a plastic pry tool and pull the covers down and out. Then the handle will pull right off.

Pretty easy to do.

From the photo, it seems this is only a front shell with hinged clips attached, but has no back shell. If anyone has tried this, do the glasses inside rattle against the exposed headliner, or tend to fall out when you try to swing it up to open? At that height, close to the ears, it would seem it would be an easily heard distraction. Perhaps I am misunderstanding what I see and this item has a rear shell?

i find the oem sunglass holder kind of useless for me. It's too small to fit any of my glasses, it wont close enough and the thing sticks out too much close to my head.

its an OEM part, I would assume its well designed... Ill let you know when I put it in tonight if there is rattle or chatter... but who knows...

looks like I will just put my non-stunner shades in there, due to size issues

Does it have a back, or does it rely on the headliner to act as the back side?

No back. However headliner acts as a a slightly cushioned interior and you need to have fairly low profile glasses to have them fit and still be able to close properly. But certainly no rattles... There's not enough room for them to move around even with the lower profile sunnies.
