My 1st Benz....so many said "dont do it"
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
During the Daimler regime, the only product connections were the creation of the Chrysler Crossfire from the SLK, the early plan to share the ML platform with the Grand Cherokee/Durango, although once "liberated by the allies", Chrysler did all their own development on the shared platform, a joint venture on an automatic transmission built in Indiana, and some shared design (but not part numbers) between some E Class and 300 suspension. Overall electrical architecture is a complex and long-lead item and not easily shared without total collaboration between developers of disparate vehicles at the early stages of concept kickoff.
Thank you for this. I get so tired of hearing that crap. Mercedes loyalists and/or apologists would like to point the finger at someone - anyone - for the early 00s quality nightmares but factually it can't be done.
Not disagreeing with your assessment of the 2012! There's a lot of widespread, but incorrect, "conventional wisdom" about the DaimlerChrysler days, and having been up close, I was trying to help explain what really happened. It wasn't pretty, but the MB products were completely unaffected and the Chrysler products were made even worse under poor Daimler management. Luckily for Chrysler, they have made a dramatic recovery recently. In the auto industry, it's hard not to have Sergio Marchionne as a hero, no matter what you drive.
I can tell you this: The new C300 2013 model is MUCH MUCH MUCH more fun than my C300 2012. I regret now that I didn't wait a month more to get the 2013. The power and handling is completely different. The transmission does not lag anymore like in the old C300's.
For the C350 2013, personally, I didn't like it. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to drive and it's powerful, but it's just not worth the additional $$ from the C300. I don't know what Mercedes was thinking when they revamped the C300, but in my opinion, it's a much more fun car to drive than the C350. Talking with the dealer, they told me that they have a hard time selling C350's now because C300 is so much more fun.
Just my 2 cents
Both of them, as of this year got the 3.5 liter engine. Last year, the C300 had a 3 liter engine.
The C350 2013 has more hp, but when I drove them both, I didnt feel the difference.
I have a question though.... I never drove the c300, but in your opinion the 50 HP difference between the 300 and 350 is it not noticeable?
Anyways, now it's too late!!! I already bought!!
But once again, this is in my opinion. Maybe I am wrong.
