These cars are very reliable, I wouldn't expect anything to go wrong at least until 100k. You did it right, Lexus looks old a few years later, Mercedes looks classic when the years go.

I love the grill... How much you paid for it? Can you take closer pics to see how OEM it looks?

Haha Audi isn't that bad in quality. Anyways I did pick the Benz in the end because that feeling you get while driving one Audi just can't beat it.

I work closely with my dealership since I sell them insurance and the mechanics are really honest about their products. I agree with the Chrysler comment above. That's the general consensus. The new engines for 2012 in the C250 300 and 350 are all awesome and so are the new transmissions. If you can get into the refreshed 2012 or 13 models you'll be even more pleased with the interior and performance. I'd Also say that if you get the 250, get cold air intake or the tuner box from burger. It makes it so much smoother to drive. I have both and I'm. It a racer. I just like the improved performance around town. Congrats on the car! Some jack wagon crashed into me and totaled my C250 in July which was my first Benz, so I got another one.

Forgive me, I'm new...what information are you asking for? I don't see threads numbered so I don't know what you're looking for. I have my vehicle year and model listed.

Content reductions were draconian and quality was poor. Whatever skills Daimler has at making MB cars did not translate into any ability to merge with or run another company...their culture did not allow for it. Finally, they raided Chrysler of much cash on hand and helped send it skidding on a path, into Cerberus (aptly named after the beast which guarded the gates of hell) toward it's eventual bankruptcy. Messrs Schremp, Zetsche, and Bernhardt milked Chrysler as a cash cow and either had no intentions or no ability to turn it into the successful company producing good products with essentially the same team which Sergio Marchionne now has. Compare a Daimler generation Chrysler 300 or Grand Cherokee with the current model...not just a "freshening" but two different level products from two different managed companies. Those cars, plus Dart and Durango have been winning awards...something which never could have happened in the company Daimler was driving into the ground.

During the Daimler regime, the only product connections were the creation of the Chrysler Crossfire from the SLK, the early plan to share the ML platform with the Grand Cherokee/Durango, although once "liberated by the allies", Chrysler did all their own development on the shared platform, a joint venture on an automatic transmission built in Indiana, and some shared design (but not part numbers) between some E Class and 300 suspension. Overall electrical architecture is a complex and long-lead item and not easily shared without total collaboration between developers of disparate vehicles at the early stages of concept kickoff.

Thank you for this. I get so tired of hearing that crap. Mercedes loyalists and/or apologists would like to point the finger at someone - anyone - for the early 00s quality nightmares but factually it can't be done.

Welcome to the community and we hope you'll contribute often and enjoy reading everyone else's posts!

Not disagreeing with your assessment of the 2012! There's a lot of widespread, but incorrect, "conventional wisdom" about the DaimlerChrysler days, and having been up close, I was trying to help explain what really happened. It wasn't pretty, but the MB products were completely unaffected and the Chrysler products were made even worse under poor Daimler management. Luckily for Chrysler, they have made a dramatic recovery recently. In the auto industry, it's hard not to have Sergio Marchionne as a hero, no matter what you drive.

Unless you live in canada and the car is a lease is where you get screwed with maintenance. Dealers will charge anything they want for Service A, B, C and demand you to do it at mercedes or they will void your complete engine+powertrain warranty...How fun. I know someone that just charged 1300$ for Service C at a local dealer lol complete ripoff.

Good call... There's something about owning a benz. I come from 4 Lexus's(SC400, LS400, LS430, ES330) in the family, while they're good and reliable, they're all boring as hell. After our first benz in 2006 we decided no more benz after a few unscheduled visits to dealership but here we are in another benz.

How is the C350? I really wanted that one but decided to go with the C250. I'm curious how the new V6 is?

I test drove yesterday both the C300 and C350 2013 models (my wife wants a Mercedes also now that I bought one).

I can tell you this: The new C300 2013 model is MUCH MUCH MUCH more fun than my C300 2012. I regret now that I didn't wait a month more to get the 2013. The power and handling is completely different. The transmission does not lag anymore like in the old C300's.

For the C350 2013, personally, I didn't like it. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to drive and it's powerful, but it's just not worth the additional $$ from the C300. I don't know what Mercedes was thinking when they revamped the C300, but in my opinion, it's a much more fun car to drive than the C350. Talking with the dealer, they told me that they have a hard time selling C350's now because C300 is so much more fun.

Just my 2 cents

LogicDSS, I didn't get it. You said "I don't know what Mercedes was thinking when they revamped the C300, but in my opinion, it's a much more fun car to drive than the C350. ". What is the difference between the two of them besides the equip and price? Why the 300 is more fun to drive then the 350?!? I think I missed something....

I said i dont know what they were thinking because, in my opinion, the C300 competes with the C350 as it is more fun to drive, better transmission response time and better handling.

Both of them, as of this year got the 3.5 liter engine. Last year, the C300 had a 3 liter engine.

The C350 2013 has more hp, but when I drove them both, I didnt feel the difference.

Ahhh. Ok now I got it..
I have a question though.... I never drove the c300, but in your opinion the 50 HP difference between the 300 and 350 is it not noticeable?
Anyways, now it's too late!!! I already bought!!

Yes I did notice a difference in power from the C350 to the C300, but in a straight line without any traffic only. In traffic, or in a normal day situation where you have stops and go, the C300 is a lot more nervous. If you're going to race the C350, you will get better times for sure... but not in the every day driving.

But once again, this is in my opinion. Maybe I am wrong.
