My 1st Benz....so many said "dont do it"
I do my own maintenance, so it's not really all that expensive. I don't mind fixing something I can. It's interesting to troubleshoot & repair stuff and the money saved is a nice bonus. Certain stuff is beyond my ability, but things like brakes, filters, fluids, batteries, belts just aren't that hard with basis hand tools and a little patience.
All in all, MB cars is a very good car and hope you enjoy it.

MB service orr any other dealer service will be expensive no matter what, espicially if you dont have warrenty with them. As for oil change, doing it once a year or when you hit 12,000miles is about the same price as doing it ever 3000mles. I really dnt know how good their old is to drive 12,000miles before gettinga old change.

I used to own a Hyundai. Maintenance on it was FAR from cheap. I think it was because the price of labor drives costs to similar levels. Especially, on dealer-prescribed maintenance.
When it comes to out of pocket expenses on repairs... that's another story. But just like I would never pay $400 for the latest phone, some people would never pay extra for something nice in a car. It really comes down to what YOU want.
Enjoy your new ride

Even though most of the attention has been on the Mercedes-Benz C class test results, have you seen the new IIHS test video (front overlap?) on the IS? The a-pillar snapped like a toothpick! Just sayin
Or maybe English isn't his first language, dude.

During the Daimler regime, the only product connections were the creation of the Chrysler Crossfire from the SLK, the early plan to share the ML platform with the Grand Cherokee/Durango, although once "liberated by the allies", Chrysler did all their own development on the shared platform, a joint venture on an automatic transmission built in Indiana, and some shared design (but not part numbers) between some E Class and 300 suspension. Overall electrical architecture is a complex and long-lead item and not easily shared without total collaboration between developers of disparate vehicles at the early stages of concept kickoff.
I will post pictures soon.

What we have is sport suspension. They call it an amg sport package because the designs fall from the c63. Ergo plug and play diffusers. If you really want to go around calling your call an AMG be my guest. Its the same as calling a 335i an M or a IS250 an F.

I'm merely telling you this as IT IS a big deal among AMG owners. Trying to keep you from future flames but you can do whatever you want as this hardly affects me. Welcome to the forum!
