Looks good. I will be doing mine this weekend when I do pads and rotors. I am going to do white and black though.

I did two coats last night. The damn instructions say that if you wait more than 20 mins in between coats that you have to wait 5 days! To add another coat. That seems stupid no?

Great Job!
Any reason to switch to solid front rotors instead of drilled?
I really prefer the drilled and want to switch the rears to match.
Brakes look great, but I'm biased with the red. Mine have been done almost 4 years and still look great.

Well I wanted to get drilled at first but the drilled set that were Cryogenics treated were discontinued and they called me to cancel my order.
The drilled ones are said to have better cooling abilities for track. At the end of the day it's really just about looks.
The rotors are better than my stock ones, in my opinion.
These are Cryogenics treated. Tirerack also sells has a set that is drilled but its not Cryogenics treated http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...ar=Sport+Sedan. Obviously I choose to go for the Cryogenics treated route.

Cryogenics treatment info http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/tech/....jsp?techid=83

i got this ones http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...ar=Sport+Sedan

Excellent video - excellent having the right tools for the job also! Well done !

The pads you removed looked to have a ton of meat left on them, did you feel something not right with the brakes or just change them to upgrade?

My front brake pads were low and the Check brakes light came on. Also the rotors where corroded. Some of the guys here on the forum suggested I bite the bullet and change both front and back. By doing the job myself is cheaper then what it cost me to have a shop replace only the fronts

I just recently paint my caliper too. However I'm noticing a loud squacking sound while brake at low speed and low speed turning. Is this normal? Brake pad and rotor is stock

You should not have ANY change in performance or sound after painting your calipers. Did you carefully cover the rotor before painting?

yes I did. But I did get a tiny little drop on it. I wiped it off with my thumb instantly, leaving barely nothing left. But that's about month ago. Also I've noticed that right after I wash my car the sound goes away. But after driving for a bit the sound comes back

I haven't driven my car, and I didn't paint where the brakes pads go, you can always use lube only on the metal parts of the brake pads. Shoot. I hope there is not sounds on my setup :-(

Okay, it turns out there is some kind of metal clips got bent over and is scratching the brake disc. The dealer got it fixed and cost me $160 D: it has nothing to do with paint the caliper. How is yours going so far.

I finally got all my mine done last week. It looks great. Im so happy I was able to do it myself. The dealer wanted like $760 to replace the front rotors and pads. I spent about $600 bucks and did all 4 wheels, painted the calipers and bought some new tools.

Best part I learned a new skill to add to my bag of tricks.

now breaking in my new Akebono pads so far i've driven about 80 miles on them

Ditto! I'd love to know the necessary equipment for self sufficient brake jobs!

Now, if I don't have a crank to lift my car up to do this, what is the best alternative to this?

I did on wheel at a time.

I been busy. Sorry guys. But that YouTube link shows what you need to take care of the rear wheels.

The fronts it's just a different size wrench socket. As long as you have a set of wrenches, sockets your fine

18mm wrench to remove the calipers.
T30 Torx to remove the old rotor.
7mm Allen key to separate the calipers.

You gonna need some 3M silicon paste to lubricate as well
Some wd-40 to loosen some bolts.
Some anti-seize if you like as well.
