Comfort-Sport button does not work

Comfort-Sport button does not work
Hey all, just tonight when I started my car to leave the shopping center, I noticed that the car had remained in the comfort mode (E in Australia) no matter how many times I had pressed for Sport. I had restarted the car several times and still the same result. Initially I had some problems with the gear lever lights as well, the red light on the side of the knob does not come on when I have it in D, same goes with the yellow line lighting.
Anybody have an idea about what might be wrong here??

Though the problem had gone away few hours after and have not been experienced again since, which is odd. But I've taken my car in the dealership to check on the lighting display along the gear stick, hopefully it's not going to be a big deal.
