Fuel Injection Flush, Help please !

Fuel Injection Flush
I have my A1 service coming up next week. My dealer told me that they recommend a fuel injection flush :S My car now sitting at 40 000 km. They are asking $169+tax to flush my fuel injection L …So my question is “ Is it worth to do it? I am a long time reader of this forum, but I do not remember anyone mentioned about fuel injection flush”

I am actually sitting at the dealership now having the B service completed on my car - I am at 60,000 miles and have not once been asked to complete the fuel injection service on my car during service.

Are you experiencing any issues that would be the result of dirty/clogged injectors that was mentioned to the service advisor?

Its specific to the dealer. some offer some dont. typically its a BG chemical. Its a 3 step system. one of which the pump is immobilized and a chemical pumped through as it is too corrosive to the plastic in the pump to run through it. One part is a throttle body cleaning, and the other is a standard fuel additive. Its your choice. couldnt hurt obviously. I usually recommend them every 30k miles.

Don't waste your money. Put Techron concentate in your tank once every 6 months or so. Run on decent additised fuel. The injection system cleaners by dealers is just a money making scam.

The first thing which comes to mind is the commission basis of Service Advisor compensation. I agree with Scat01 and suggest that, if you don't have ongoing access to a top tier fuel http://www.toptiergas.com/ that you use Techron fuel system cleaner concentrate, although no more than twice per oil change. It is one of two such products recommended by MB and is available on amazon.com. Just follow the easy instructions on the 12 oz bottle about when to pour it in your almost empty tank.

Yeh! SS ~ the trouble is that some of them can hurt & in over concentration can be aggressive to certain fuel system components. More is not better in this case. That is why MB only approves 2 components which are equally good. BP's system is also pretty good but not approved at this time.

Is it better to put the Techron additive and let it run through prior to getting oil change?
