Car Stuttering at start
My C300 Sport 2009 is having problems starting in the morning. It seems I turn on the ignition and it has difficulty starting. If I apply gas it picks up but I have to do it every time. It also stutters every now and then when I am on the road (like it is trying to get another gear in). It only does it in the morning. The car is at 62k miles. Not mechanically savy and looking for some advise. 
I am thinking maybe battery, fuel filter or cleaning the fuel injectors but not sure.

I would do the next few things:
1. Clean the MAF (in my opinion, this is for sure the reason of your failure)
1.1 Replace air filters
2. Check your spark plugs, replace if necessary.
3. If non of the above solve your issue, I would have the gas pump checked.

Suggest you read codes ~ likely 300 & 301 to 306.
Seems it's only happening in open loop mixture enriched. If you car does plently of short trips it's likely plugs. They will only do 100K if they run in the self cleaning range frequently.
