Bass level

Hey guys,

I'm curious if anybody cranks their bass to the top. I listen to pretty heavy rock and love the bass up, but don't want to blow any speakers/the subwoofer.

Thanks.

The HK Logic 7 system, with its separate subwoofers and amplifier located under the rear seat, can be played to their limit HOWEVER this does not take into consideration the user's equalization that may push the bass beyond reasonable levels and eventually cause driver damage due to excessive excursion.

There are just 2 5/12 inch woofers there, and they do an admirable job. Their cone surface area is about the same as a single 7 inch speaker. If more bass is desired, a separate amp and subwoofer enclosure would be needed. However because of the Logic 7 system's spatial time delay, don't be surprised if the whole sound with the addition of another subwoofer, just doesnt turn into MUD.

Hey, thanks man, I really appreciate the reply. This is exactly the info I was looking for. Not looking to add anything, just want to make sure I don't blow anything up over time by cranking the bass.

Appreciated!

Recommended is to leave all the tone controls on "0" and just crank it up. Over time and especially in an automobile interior environment (extreme heat and cold) the butyl surrounds tend to deteriorate, this happens practically irrespective of the amount the bass cones travel. Replacing them is not an expensive item, and the digital amplifiers are well protected.
