I have searched for this and come to find a few idea about what others thought this problem was, but no one had any exact idea.

When I go over speed bumps my c200k w204 2009 makes suspension 'clunking' noises. It's mainly over speed bumps, or over large road dips that this happens.

Has anyone had this on their car? Mines done 30k miles. I'm not sure if it's a problem, just an annoyance to hear this noise over every bump! Makes the car sound cheap .

It sounds like the suspension anyway, could be something else though.

 

Check front castor bushes for cracks with suspension unloaded ~ known problem. Check sway bar drop links & bushes.

 

I have an '09 C300 Lux and I just had the front struts changed under warranty. Sounds a lot like the noise I was hearing.

Front bushing, there is a technical bulletin, mine was replaced under warranty.

 

Thanks for the help, it looks like it is an issue and a common one luckily. I have a booking with my dealer this Saturday and I'll see what he says.

I hope I still have warranty, I am coming up for about 3 years now .
