Driver's seat "lifting" over bumps
Hey everyone-
I searched the forum for this but only came up with the "squeaky seat" issue, which is not what I'm having. Maybe it's related?
Anyway, I noticed, while cruising down the highway and hitting bumps and humps in the pavement, that my driver's seat feels like it lifts a little bit. It almost feels like the bolts that hold it to the floor are loose and it's allowed to "travel" a little before it stops. It's not like I hit my head on the roof or anything, it probably only lifts a centimeter or so, but it's really disconcerting to feel as though the seat is lifting at highway speeds. Plus, this is a Benz, it shouldn't do that!
Has anyone else experienced this?

I would inspect the seat structure for damage & take a look at the hold down bolts & tighten if necessary.

I inspected it earlier and found that when I push down on the front of the bottom seat cushion, the noise happens (it pops back up). It doesn't happen if I push down on the plastic side-part of the seat, only the upholstered cushion.
It takes a considerable amount of force, probably the equivalent of a 100lb person sitting in the seat. I thought maybe it was an airbag switch, but I think those exist only on passenger seats and, if they did exist on the driver seat, people would've complained about this by now. So, I'm not sure what's going on.
Sounds like another warranty item, anyway. I've had 1 front strut go, a door lock actuator/handle mechanism (they replace the whole door panel -- expensive), and now this, all within 1yr of owning the vehicle. This makes me think I need to purchase an extended warranty.

I am not sure whether there are spring supports in the seat . Someone may know. One may have failed. Will be interested to know what you find.
I had a few warranty items during the 3 year period. Touch wood, I have now gone for nearly 2 years problem free.

Looks like it's not limited to my model year. It would be interesting to hear from someone who's taken their vehicle to the dealer for it.

Hey guys I took mine in for this
Heres what was replaced:
I do have to say if i push down with more than average force it does go down, but when it wasn't fixed i could push the seat down really easily and it would make the noise.
