I'm in Long Island, NY. I priced out a $46,510 C300 Sport Sedan and the best I got was $449 per month, all in. Sign and drive, only need first payment and DMV. Taxes in the payment. I also priced out a $45,550 C250 Coupe, and got the same offer.

What I really want is a $49,305 C350 Coupe. I'm told the payment will come in around $150 per month higher. Anyone have any input on this?

They are packing you on the payment, should be ~$45-$60 depending upon the interest and such. They are hoping you do not realize you do not pay the total increase, even though the car is $3800 more you do not pay the $3800, the bank will be picking up some of that as well.

True, but I think the leasing programs are different, they don't have the same residual %.

The coupe has the same residual provided its a C250, if the coupe they were quoting you on then it will be the same, if you are going from a sedan to a coupe then its a little bit more than 45-60, but probably somewhere around $90-$110. Leasing in NY is a little different than CA so I am simply working off the figures based on CA but the coupe has a higher residual but a higher lease factor to boot.

The $449 quote was for either the C300 Sport 4 door or the C250 Coupe as described above. The sedan is a bit more expensive.

I like the C350 coupe...that is the payment I'm told is $150 p/m higher. I spoke to 3 dealers, and the $449 is the best payment I've gotten to date, $50 better than the others. Remember, that includes NY Tax.

The C350 coupe has a 1% lower residual iirc and a higher money factor. That's the reason for the big difference in payment, along with the higher MSRP.

BlackJackM: That is what I was told, thank you. I'm digging the $449 payment for the 250 Coupe...really like the V6 of the 350 Coupe, but not sure if it's worth $150 per month.

I'd say the payment you were quoted on the C250 is pretty good. I was quoted 10% off msrp with a similar sticker to you but with 12k miles and $2500 due at signing. Similar payment.

The dealer I'm taking to is at dealer invoice. The C350 Coupe I like is $50,595 or $47,118 Invoice. Take off $2k for Conquest and that's a price of $45,118. I'm hearing 12% off MSRP is the best around, and that would be $44,523. I think the $45,118 is a fair deal. But, the higher finance factor isn't so appealing. I'll see what my dealer says tomorrow and report back.

I'm being told that I can't use Conquest (even though I also own a BMW) because I'm an existing MB lessee. Anyone know if that's true?

Yes, true. However you can get the fleet discount. $199 gets you an honorary membership to the bar association per my dealer!
