Help with "iPod/MP3 Media Interface and Cable"

Hey all,

I just picked up my first MB ('10 C300 4MATIC Sport) and the window sticker says it has "iPod/MP3 Media Interface and Cable", except when I open up the glove compartment there is no cable! I took the plastic side cover off to see if somehow the cable was in there but I didn't see anything. I took pics of the inside of the gc and the side with panel removed

Does anybody have any ideas of what the situation is?

Unless it was an oversight by MB during manufacture, the minijack cable should be there.

Two suggestions: Perhaps the cable is behind the glove box liner or pushed up against the Audio 20 unit. Also, perhaps the former owner rerouted the cable to go to the center console down along the right hand door and under the carpet, or directly down from the Audio nit along the right side of the center console.

Best of luck.

Hmmmm....the 2012 comes with a cable and the connection is in the center arm rest. This is a good thing for others to know about if they were expecting the same as you. But the simple fact that there is paneling that is missing, should be a sign that there is something wrong.

I took the paneling off to look for the cable. It didn't come like that.

Haha yeah I definitely wouldn't have brought her home without the paneling! I had it shipped to me (was in RI, I live in OK) so I wasn't able to check to see if the cable was there before I had it at my house. It's still under warranty so I'll call and see what can be done.

Thanks guys for the input; I called the dealership and they said it must have been an oversight on their part and are sending me a new one via FedEx so it should be here soon. If anyone can link me to a DIY on installing the new cable I would appreciate it, I presume it won't be too hard and that most of the work will be in finding where to plug it in but I have no previous experience so I'm a clean slate. Thanks again!
