A friend of mine has the 2008 C300 and the cd player is not working. It says its unable to read the disc. Tried other cds and it still doesnt work.

Any ideas?

Cars parked regularly in the sun can result in the dampening system for the CD laser tracking to lose its elasticity, causing the unit to mistrack.

Not much can be done, the simple solution is to buy an iPod or MP3 player connected through the Aux.
