Newbie saying Hi
Well not mine but the wifes but undoubtedly I will be spending most of the time washing, cleaning, fixing and looking after it. After all as long as she is happy, my ears are rested
We just bought for her a C300 4matic 2009 with 44,500 miles on the clock and such was the determination from her to get a Mercedes that we bought one even though we will have to travel out of state to get it serviced, well almost. We live in sturgis sd and our nearest dealers are sioux falls, billings montana or denver crazy I know but she understands the difficulty but had always wanted one and it is a lovely car.
Some first impressions
Negatives...it doesn't like side winds, even at best 23-25mpg on the highway at 75-ish, you floor it and there is some lag like the old day turbo's and..that's it so far
Positives..it gets better gas mileage than my truck, swmbo smiles every time she see's and drives it (and that alone is worth the money) She likes that it has 4 wheel drive..handy in south dakota, and all in all she has realised a long standing wish.
So far then to do...the mirrors lens are full of condensation with no cracks and the command button works on left right up down but the turning part has failed. I understand both of these tend to fail around the 3-4 year mark after reading the forums but fortuneatly we are still in warranty so will resolve both of those along with a one off start our ownership service probably at westminster mercedes in Denver
goodies...I am keen to improve the lighting having ridden on motorcycles most of my life and the last 8 years all equipped with hid. Ours has projector lights currently so thinking of fitting some 5-6k hids slim fit models but I understand that some have error free fits and some do no, also fitting them varies between a okayish kit and others seem to be ultra smooth and discreet
The upgraded led lights internal also, the key fobs carcases are quite beaten up so I want to find out how to remove the internals and place into a new chrome outer and..beyond that not much as we love it as it looks
anyway sorry for the long newbie ramble but felt it would be rude just to post straight in without saying hi

Hello and Welcome, I have just regular 4300k bulbs installed instead of the whole hid kit. I've had them in for about 8 months and all is great . much better than the yellowish light from stock
