A few mods

So, I've had the car for a couple of months now and I think I am done modding it for now. Brief mod list includes, CF Lip, CF big fin diffuser, quad tips exhaust, window tint, SLS style grille, LED tail light bulbs and LED side markers.

Can't lower the car, cause I will winter drive it. With the lip it already scrapes snow, so lowering it is out of the question. Would love to hear your guy's comments, suggestions and opinions.

And perhaps some of you may direct me towards some new mod, although I can't think of anything for now.

Enjoy.

I do not have any side profile shots right now. But I have it tinted at 35% all around, have the LED side markers. Other than that, it's all stock and has the AMG package, so the 18" AMG wheels and all that jazz.

This is when I first got it. The only thing done here are the window tints.

And my old car for memories sake. lol

I've left it at stock exhaust for now. I do want to make it louder/deeper, as close to a C63 as possible (of course can't be the same), but I am just worried that I will end up ruining it and making it sound terrible. I am still debating about all this though, I haven't been able to hear sound clips of which option will make it sound like what, so I am not sure.

Your plan sounds good. I might look into getting some gloss black rims next summer or have these powder coated, but nothing is certain.

Do an x-pipe. You will not regret it. It's loud at around 4K RPM, sounds like an animal. Under that, it's nice and quiet, no drone or anything. I also like your car. I love the quad exhaust setup, although it does look like your exhausts are sticking out a bit more than it should. But that's just the way it looks!

No, you're right. It does stick out a little. My guy at the shop had a little misunderstanding when I said I wanted to be able to see the AMG etched on the tips. So he left them out a bit too much. I've got to take it back but I just haven't had the time for the past couple of weeks.

Where can I order a x-pipe? Maybe I will take that with me when I go back to get the tips fixed and get him to install that too. Are there any sound clips of what an x-pipe and straight pipe would sound like? I don't want it to sound obnoxiously loud.

I'd keep an x-pipe. I have seen a few clips on the forums you can find. Or just youtube it.
I got this x-pipe, and I'm very happy with it. It cost me about $60 to install.

I am seriously considering an x-pipe now. I figured I need to go back to have the tips tucked in so I might as well get the x-pipe install too.

How does it exactly work? Do they remove the catalytic convertor and install the pipes instead of that? Doesn't that make it obnoxiously loud on high speeds?

Any sound clips? Thanks guys.

They replace the resonator with the x-pipe. It's not obnoxious at all, the only time it's loud is when you are pushing the car past 4K RPMs. It's very quiet and sounds stock with normal city driving or cruising on the highway.

I think I'll order that x pipe you posted above then. Seems like a decent price.

I am constantly over 4k rpm lol that's my only concern! When you say it's loud past 4k rpm, what is it exactly like? :p

How loud would that be inside the cabin?

The first one doesn't sound too bad and second one is a pointless video considering he's in a tunnel.

It's quiet inside the cabin, sounds stock. I honestly didn't know how loud it was until I was outside of the car and let my friend floor it away and drive by. I was surprised.

I think you've convinced me enough. I'll order a x-pipe and have it installed when I go to get the exhaust tips tucked in.

Is that link you provided the best place to order it from? I am going on holidays on the 22nd, so I would have to receive it before that or else it would be too late. Being in Canada doesn't help.

So only the resonator gets replaced by the x-pipe right? The mufflers and everything else stays?

Just google search for the Magmaflow 10790. You will find plenty of sources. Just make sure it's the 2.25 inch.

And yes, only the resonator.

I ordered the x-pipe from carid.com. IT was $115 after shipping and all. Now hopefully I'll get it in 12 days or I am going to miss it.

Got the tips tucked in and the x-pipe installed. I like the sound, it's almost like it barely makes any difference. When I am inside the car I can barely hear anything. I wonder how loud it is outside.

It's quite loud. I'd let a (VERY TRUSTED) friend just floor it while you're outside of the car in a parking lot. This way you'll experience the real sound.
