transmission

took my car in today for a diagnosis of transmission issues . I noticed as did the service advisor that upon slowing down it has a rough shift in gears, almost like a lag or slippage, they ran codes today nothing came back andthe service manager test drove it and stated he didn't find anything. Any idea what could be wrong? they changed tranny fluid but not the torque converter, MBUSA stated its not required.

Who cares if it's "required?" My C300 was in just yesterday for a trans service (2K miles early to take advantage of the MBUSA service discount) and I instructed them to drain the torque converter also. Which was done. I paid a little more for the extra fluid which will pay off in the future since I would not be starting out with 50% old fluid.

I wish I had remembered the modified pan and overflow tube because I would have paid to have that installed while they were at it. After the service I notice that shift quality is improved and upshifts are better spaced so I think they zeroed out the trans software while they were at it.

Very pleased.

I also instructed them to install a TPMS repair kit in my LF wheel since it's been losing about 1psi per day. After tightening down the external nut many times (which worked) it was time to fix it once and for all until the battery dies.

So what was the problem? I am facing a similar issue on my '13 E250 4Matic that only has 3500 miles on it. Thanks.

At first I was told its normal , now apparently they can't notice it so not sure what to think at this point.

Supposedly this software update is free of charge, if the dealer hadnt performed it earlier.

I'll have to check. Unfortunately the dealership I have in my area refuses to acknowledge this issue as abnormal.

Well I had my first "A" service on my 2012 C250 and they applied free of charge (though they did charge $100 for a computer check!?) the Transmission reflash. Wow it is a completely different car and now a pleasure to drive. Subsequently have fitted a "PedalBox" drive by wire throttle module which even on the lowest sport setting is awesome - even when the car itself is in eco(default) mode. Sweet!
