Hey guys,
I was checking the oil level in my garage this afternoon when I found out that the dipstick has a strong odor of gasoline . The oil is M1 0w40 and it has about 2500 miles on it (4400 km). I also noticed that it was pretty dark and feels a little bit more watery than usually. My father is a big smoker and he also noticed the odor.... I know there's a bulletin about the emission of the vehicle, but I just didn't have time to go to make it done. What do you think of it....another misfortune due to the new DI design? I had a C300 V6 before the C250...I'm starting to think that the switch was a bad choice.....
Any thoughts? Fuel pump issue? Valve issue? Cold temperature? DI? M271?
I took a sample to send to Blackstone to check the oil...but I think I'll pay a little visit to the dealer tomorrow morning...to make them smell a new kind of coffee!
Thanks!!

If the oil is losing viscosity due to fuel contamination take it straight to the dealer to be checked out. It could be overfuelling, leaking injector etc. Otherwise that engine will run bearings & suffer severe cam & tappet wear.
Good luck!
EDIT ~ was the level high on the dipstick? It could give you some idea of level of contamination although once the engine is hot it will evapourate the gas off.

Thanks Glyn, Yes the level was a little higher than the Max level on the dipstick, probably by 2-3mm. The engine produce a noticing and constant rattle at med-high load. At first I thought it was the cold weather (-24oC this morning) or the DI....but who knows if this gasoline has already started to wear the engine out

Hmm! The dealer might be wise to flat bed the car in to their workshops.
