Gear oil question

My 2010 C300 4matic says use SAE 85W-90 Hypoid gear oil, but what I'm wondering do I need a GL-4 or GL-5 or does it matter and what about the Mercedes spec 235.7? What does that mean and how do you decipher the coding? Also does my car use a limited slip type rear end? Any info would be great. Thanks

You require an oil approved against 235.7, SAE 75W-85, GL5
