X pipe + Muffler Delete = Less Torque. Worth it?
i installed an x pipe yesterday (got ripped off)! i like the noise but i want it to be even more loud (drone doesn't bother me). So i was thinking bout doing a muffler delete and do straight pipes but after looking at the forums,
is it worth losing low end torque?
on a side note, is it bad for the car as well? since this car will be with me for the foreseeable future.

No, it is not worth losing torque....that said, why not buy performance mufflers that provide the sound you want, but do not have the negative impact ?

I just installed my x-pipe and when ur driving you can barely hear it unless you hit 3500 rpm but I had my brother drive it and I was driving his car behind mine and man you can hear it!!! I think it's not worth sound over torque but maybe you can do what scat01 said ...performance mufflers

its barely noticeable the low end torque. That being said the drone is horrible and gives the effect of, your car is going fast by sound but car is slow. Thus making people even the driver think that your losing alot of torque ect. If that makes sense.

I wont argue this point here as it gets extemely technical, but search it on line and you will learn there is factual data showing the reduction in back pressure reduces torque - not sure how noticeable it is in the C300....no chance in a million years you gain throttle repsonse, it is all in your head, but if it is a good mod for you and you enjoy it - cheers!

also, instead of a muffler delete; i put in magnaflow Glasspacks. would that compensate for the lack of backflow? and balance out the low end torque loss?
