For person who only have audio 20 like me? The dash can fit an iPad mini perfectly

Looks like a nice fit but how well does it stay in place?

It stays in place really well. That is why I bought mine the first day they came out. I have an OtterBox on it and without the hard top cover- the grippy rubber makes it stay in place even better. My wife thought it was ridiculous to buy one just for that, but now she loves it.

I would be concerned about how it will bounce off deploying air bags and be ricocheted toward your head in a frontal impact. In a rear impact, it will simply fly rearward, although maybe not straight between your heads.

Same concern applies if you have a mount on GPS/iPhone. The only difference is that they fly towards your head during a rear impact because they're usually placed near drivers side for better view.

Of course I don't operate it while the vehicle is moving- that would be ILLEGAL. We use it when parked.

Sorry I didn't consider that. I spend only as much time in my parked car as it takes me to reach the door handle!

I just did this today and its awesome. Use some 3M velcro strips behind the ipad mini to secure it over the command screen holder. I drove around on residential streets and highways and its very solid.

I use a wireless bluetooth receiver so music, navigation, etc. all play through the car speakers. Also there's no more need for City Engineering's VIM (video in motion module).

no wires, looks clean, perfect fit

Possibly the ultimate comand replacement.

Charging

How do you charge it w/o unsightly wires? Was thinking a more permanent install. Also are you using a 3G version or just wifi?

Thoughts??

Hi, its not a permanent install. I simply charge it overnight at home and then I use the iPad on a full charge in my car. An iPad charge can last up to 10 hours on a single charge.

As for the internet connection, I create a hotspot on my iPhone to my iPad Mini using LTE/3G.

Thanks

If you could somehow connect it to a rear view camera it would be great
