Anyone thought of this yet?

It stays in place really well. That is why I bought mine the first day they came out. I have an OtterBox on it and without the hard top cover- the grippy rubber makes it stay in place even better. My wife thought it was ridiculous to buy one just for that, but now she loves it.

Same concern applies if you have a mount on GPS/iPhone. The only difference is that they fly towards your head during a rear impact because they're usually placed near drivers side for better view.

Of course I don't operate it while the vehicle is moving- that would be ILLEGAL. We use it when parked.

I just did this today and its awesome. Use some 3M velcro strips behind the ipad mini to secure it over the command screen holder. I drove around on residential streets and highways and its very solid.
I use a wireless bluetooth receiver so music, navigation, etc. all play through the car speakers. Also there's no more need for City Engineering's VIM (video in motion module).
no wires, looks clean, perfect fit
Possibly the ultimate comand replacement.

How do you charge it w/o unsightly wires? Was thinking a more permanent install. Also are you using a 3G version or just wifi?
Thoughts??

As for the internet connection, I create a hotspot on my iPhone to my iPad Mini using LTE/3G.
Thanks
