Bad speaker? Bad Wire? or Bad Connector?

So my driver side speaker is acting up..once in a while, I will notice there is no sound coming from the driver side speaker..
I think tweeter is working fine, just the speaker..
To get the sound back, all I have to do is hit the speaker grille and the sound would come back..
Do you guys think it is the problem with wire or with speaker itself?
I have about a month left on my warranty and would like to get this fixed..
Took the car to dealer the other day and they say the could not reproduce the problem...

That is so frustrating. My dealer is pretty good about believing me on issues. Some issues I will take videos, but I guess a video wouldn't show up this problem too well.

Perhaps try calling or emailing your advisor or the manager of the service department and tell them you need to get it sorted while the warranty will still be in place.

So the dealer replaced the front driver speaker about 10 days ago, initially I thought the problem is fixed but last night, the right front speaker again went mute and again the sound was restored with a couple smack on the grille..
I suspect the connector is the one to blame, maybe a loose pin or partially broken wire or something..will ask dealer to take another look when I bring the car back to replace the command knob next week..

I've been having a similar problem once in a while I hear a crack or static type sound come from the back speakers. I think it's the rear passenger side door speaker. I asked the dealer to check it on a FEW occasions but they said everything was fine. It's still happening though. I just don't want something to end up shorting or blowing out. Any ideas of what this could be?

How strange. I have a similiar problem with the drivers side speaker. However my car is RHD. It only happens sometimes when I take a left turn. To get it to work again I have to turn the volume up and it kicks back in!

I’m experiencing the same problem with my drivers side front speaker too. The tweeter is also doing the same thing but only on occasion.
I’m gong to replace all the speakers with Infinity speakers which are a direct swap and also swap my stock tweeters with the Harman Kardon tweeters of the OEM upgrade stereo, this will also improve on the sound quality.
I will let you know how it goes.

I know this is an old thread, but any updates on this? I just bought a c300 and I'm having a similar issue. Its the drivers side front speaker, and it isn't getting a proper connection. I messed with the HU some and if I move the cables, I can get a less distorted sound, but I can't get it to stick. Any ideas?
