Exclamation C300 Wheels - 18x8.5 +45 all around? Or 18x8.5(front) & 18x9.5(rear) +45?

Hey Guys,

Just looking for a quick answer if possible. I have a 2010 C300 Sport 4Matic, and my options are 18x8.5 (front and rear) with +45 offset.

Or.. 18x8.5 (front) +45 and 18x9.5 (rear) +45

Which should i get? Is staggered better? Maybe I can get the 18x8.5 (front&rear) and get wider tires in the back? Help pls.

I know +45 offset front and +50 offset rear is better from mbworld posts, but they do not carry +50 offset. UGHH. Any ideas?

Any suggestion would be great.

Get the staggered setup. I ran the same thing but in 19's with no issues.

Why do you recommend staggered?

Both will fit just fine with the right tire size. I personally would go with staggered, I am buying BBS LM REPs and I need to go 18x8.5 all around and I am just going to run a staggered tire setup. I would go with 225/40 front and 255/35 rear, on 18x8.5 all around or 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. I have done a lot of searching on this topic, click on the link below on the post #719 you will see a c300 with 18x8.5 all around running staggered tires.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your new wheels.

I would say probably because the c300 OEM wheels comes staggered, 17x7.5 and 17x8.5

Staggered looks much better IMO, the wider the better in the rears. The car came with staggered so why change what was already good?

That's awesome! Thanks for showing me the picture of 18x8.5 set up all around. They look great! - Why are you going with 225 tire in the front, and not with the 235 set up in the post you showed me? Is the 225 going to give you a more skinny tire look?

So you'd go with the 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 set up with +45 offset? I know the front would be fine with that size and offset, but I'm nervous about the rear! 9.5 will mean wider rim and with +45 offset, wouldn't the rim/tire pop out the wheel well? 8.5 with +45 will at least even it out in my opinion.

I'm currently running 19x9.5 rear with +50 offset, and they lay flush. I can't see going with a lower offset in the rear other than +50! (see picture)

You guys sure 9.5 with +45 will work? Or should I just do the 8.5 all around with wider tire in the back?

Agreed. but wider tire or wider rim?

This decision would be a lot easier if the wheels I wanted came with 18x9.5 +50 offset. Too bad they only come with +45 offset.

Because my car is a 4matic and from what I research I need to keep the rolling circumference of the tires within 2% of one another and that's the size I found that every one else was using. Yeah the 225 will look a bit skinner compared to the 235, I wanted the rear to look a bit wider with the quad exhaust I just installed.

I would go with the staggered setup if I was you, If could I would but its not an option with the wheels I want. Go to the other post below post #14 will show a c300 with 19x9.5 44 Offset with a 265 tire in the rear, so that will give you an idea of what it would look like, I would go with 255 in the rear just to be on the safe side. The wheel will be closer to the fender but I don't think it would look bad, I would do it.

I understand staggered fitment on highpower cars but think it isn't necessary for a C300. Most can't look at the car and see the 1" difference. I would switch my car to non-staggered just so I could rotate my tires.

Don't C's usually use tires with different side wall profiles in the front and back? How would this affect rotating tires?

You sure did a lot of research on this. How did you calculate tire size 225 was within 2% of 255 rear? Yea, i too notice a lot of mbworld users running 225 also.

And thanks for showing me 18x9.5 +45 offset! I'm looking at it from every angle, and it's just not working for me. It's not flush inside the wheel well from the picture... It depends on the person, some people like their wheels to be aggressive and stick out. I like mine to be either flush or inside the wheel well.

I might go with the 18x8.5 all around, and just get a staggered tire size. If they had 18x9.5 +50 offset, then that would be a no brainer!

Is there a difference in performance from getting staggered rim size compared to settling for a staggered tire size with same rim size?

+1 ..i agree, but because our cars are Sport 4Matics and originally came with staggered, I would keep the set up. But if you wanted to go with same size tires and rims, then the manual says to do

18x8 +45 offset with 225/40 R18 92H

Yeah, just a little lol, I use this calculator to calculate the circumference http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp that's the best calculator i found. Yeah it sticks out a bit, I like my wheels to look a bit aggressive and wide if possible because it seems like that's what my car is missing after I installed the quad exhaust.

If you go with 18x8.5 all around with staggered tires, at least you will know for sure it wont stick past the fender and it will have the flush look you would like. There is not difference in performance.

Yup, the aggressive look will suit your car with those exhaust. I have the aggressive look now and I'm looking to change to a sleek AMG look. I'm running 19' black spider wheels, and bought a Mercedes luxury grill and painted it black to match the rims. I took off the grill, and put a AMG stock grill and all i need left is the AMG wheels which this whole thread was about.

Any ideas where i can get a quick sell on the rims and grill i have now?
