Pls Help: 2004 MB C240 morning starting problem
I need some advice on my problem with the C240. Car has under 50K miles and the car been acting up during the morning's first start. The engine cranks and it seems it wants to fire up, but the start is very rough and doesn't really turn over. Which forces me to shut it down and repeat the start process again. Since then, I have replaced the battery and had a major service tuneup....changing all the fluids, all the filters, and spark plugs. My mechanic also replaced the Cam Position Sensor and the Crank Position Sensor. I just got my car back from the service and I was surprised I am still having a problem. With all this service, the problem didn't seem to go away. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Notes.
when the car do turn over, you can smell some un-burnt gas. and the car runs fine and smoothly after it finally starts up. no problem with subsequent starts.
before any of this startup problem, the check engine light came up once and my mechanic had to clean the MAF and the car was running fine for a long time.
