How to remove the side mirror covers on W204?
Can somebody post a guide and nice large pics or video on how to remove the plastic side mirror covers on a W204?
I found a guide in this forum on how to remove the side mirrors (thanks!) but now I need to know how to remove the side mirror covers. I am replacing the covers with the 2010+ models (only the outer plastic part)
as shown here
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/190517128593
Thanks alot

Hi, thanks I've seen your video but that is for the removal of the side mirror. Ideally, I would like to see a video on how to remove the side mirror plastic cover.
The only DYI I've seen on this has very small pics and not easy to understand.
Thanks

It's super easy. Adjust your mirrors so the glass won't be in the way of pulling the cover upwards. There is a "bar" on the bottom back edge of the mirror that you will want to pull towards you. Ounce you pulled that towards the back of the car then lift it upwards.

Thanks alot for this. Yes I would prefer pics (or even better a video) just so I don't make a mistake. Its my first benz and don't want to break anything

Willing to donate $ if you make a video.

Lol I can try and do that for later, and no need to donate its not hard for me to make once I can find some time. Don't worry it's my first car so you can imagine how scared I was of breaking the thing.

Well I got around to doing it today, sorry if I spoke too fast or had poor angles. I've done plenty of iPhone tutorials but never a car one so I was super nervous.
Hope this helps

I have the slightly bigger 2009 side mirrors but I assume its the same process? What I find very interesting in your video is that there's no need to remove the side mirrors to change the cover? wow
What I'm really confused about is that on the original side mirror cover replacement thread, members are saying to remove the side mirror completely to do the change. If you can shed some light on this?

Thanks for the super quick reply Matt-ehorn. Assuming the OEM mirror housings were painted not primed? Cost if u don't mind me asking? Also, plasti dip any links to what this is? I'm assuming Don Nguyen is out West and a local guy? I heard of 3M scotchprint tape is that what Don is using? I live in Kansas City not sure if Don has contacts out this way? Thanks again for the quick replies. Cheers - Stefan

2) Plasti dip is a rubber coating that is applied like a spray paint. It can be found at many home improvement stores like Home Depot, lowes, ace, etc or places like amazon. One nice thing about it is that it requires no prep work other than a clean and dry area. The best part is it protects your paint and can be removed at any time. I'm putting a link below to dip your car. Which is a company that sells all different types of it and some great tutorials.
3) Yeah sorry Don is a guy here in SoCal. The vinyl used was 3M in Gloss Black. I'm not sure if he has any recommendations but many tint places can also do vinyl wrap.

Hi Matt, Many thanks! That is pretty cool....Plasti dip! I will check with the shop that did my window tinting about vinyl wrapping. Again, if u don't mind sharing what did that cost? Merci - Stefan

The vinyl wrap was about $175 but that may vary just based on your shops labor prices.

Hi Matt, A different topic.......any recommendations for the rear roof spoiler ? I just tried Jbs speed but they couldn't guarantee the paint code match for my polar white C Class. Heard anything about iDcars ? Thanks in advance - MB4 (aka Stefan)

Unfortunately I haven't heard of anything about them but I also haven't looked. So I can't really say that I know about one certain place to find one. But I know many people on here have roof spoilers and would be willing to help. Best of luck though. -Matt
