battery icon in dash?
We had a bad car battery replaced under warranty over 2 months ago - it was not holding a charge anymore - so this one should be new. The car is completely stock so it can't be excessive drain from something we've done.
In the manual it does say that if the remote's key is dead, the indicator light on the key itself will not illuminate when pressing a key - we just tried it and didn't see any light indicator nor have we ever noticed one before on the remote. But the key still locks/unlock. Wild guess - could this battery icon in the dash be indicating the remote's battery is dying? On my BMW the remote battery charges constantly while in the ignition (if no keyless go), but it would tell me on the dash if the key battery is low (non-rechargeable if keyless go which is my case). This C300 doesn't have keyless go. Do any Merc keys recharge? Is it telling me to replace the battery?

Does the icon in the dash stay on all the time? If so, it would indicate a possible battery and/or alternator problem. Might want to have those checked out. Even if the battery was changed two months ago.

If the car had KG, then there would be a weak remote key battery warning at the cluster.
