MPG Accuracy!

I've owned several cars with computer displays for mpg attained. They all indicated 1-2 mpg better than actual using pump numbers and a calculator. Yesterday I drove my first trip of half-way to Houston and back (70-75 mph) and the mpg indicator for the trip was 31 mpg. Checking at the pump I got 31.04 mpg. I'm really impressed with the MB's accuracy, and the highway gas mileage matched the EPA estimate on the window sticker. I only had about 1500 total miles on the car. I didn't expect the mileage to get better until at least 5000 miles. Way to go MB!

MPG accuracy for my 2007 S550 is the same way. Drove to Florida from DC round trip on three tanks, 660 miles to a tank 30-31 mpg reported within 0.5 mpg of calculated values. Not only is the accuracy amazing, but 30mpg for a 5000lb sedan is just awesome. City is only about 15, but could be my heavy foot.
