09 C300 40k service quote

I know this has been addressed and I have searched... Called a local independent shop to get a quote for my tranny service (fluid/filter), brake fluid and air filters. My quote was as followed tranny: $360 brake fluid: $140 and filter at $45. The shop informed me they would perform a flush and re fill of 9qts synthetic fluids and a flush for brakes as well. My question is do most of you drain and change for service as I have read also draining the tq converter as well or should I go ahead with the flush? And same in regards to brake fluid? ... The shop said they don't drain torque converter but rather do a full flush, same goes for brake system. I need to get this done tomorrow so any input is greatly appreciated ASAP. I just want to make sure it is done correctly and the flush would be okay, I would assume so since all the fluid will be fully cycled through and drained completely even from tq converter which is my main concern to make sure I won't be just contaminating new fluid with old fluid still in the converter.

Thanks guys!

In regards to the transmission:
MB drains from the drain plug and torque convertor plug. NOT a flush. I, like you, shopped around for a nice indy shop for my transmission service. I called a handful of shops. Lots of shops wanted to do some sort of "flush" (there where a couple different methods explained to me) and didn't want to open the "sealed" transmission.

In the end, I decided to avoid having an independent shop flush my transmission. It's not the way Mercedes Benz does it. Additionally, a flush doesn't involve replacing the transmission filter - which MB also recommends.

Good Luck

Yeah thats what worries me and if I had the time I would try and just DIY it but my schedule doesn't permit and I am trying to avoid the dealership.

Thanks for the response.

Called a different shop that is reputable in my Area and spoke with them in regards to draining the TC as well and they seem very competent so I will be taking it to them... In case there are other W204 owners in Las Vegas in need of service and want to avoid dealer service look up German Motors Las Vegas and speak with Greg. Just thought I would share that...

I just did my tranny fluid change today on my 09 C300 at 52K (better late than never). I'm not sure if it was ever done before since I bought it used (loaner). I did request a service history check and while most A and B services were done, I couldn't find the service history to know if the tranny fluid was ever changed at 39K. So having owned the car only a few weeks I went ahead and got it done today just in case.

The Benz shop told me that color of the tranny fluid was dark brown to black. So glad its done now.

Total cost was $380 tax in which also included replacement of Tranny filter, gasket, drain/flush as well as a new bolt kit.

Next is the brake fluid change.

The shop told me the fluid was very dirty as well so I'm glad it is done. TC was also drained and they said it took about 7qts to fill. I would imagine it is a bit low so I may check cause I'm assuming once the fluid cycles and fills the converter it will take the other 2 qts or so
