Thanks guys!
MB drains from the drain plug and torque convertor plug. NOT a flush. I, like you, shopped around for a nice indy shop for my transmission service. I called a handful of shops. Lots of shops wanted to do some sort of "flush" (there where a couple different methods explained to me) and didn't want to open the "sealed" transmission.
In the end, I decided to avoid having an independent shop flush my transmission. It's not the way Mercedes Benz does it. Additionally, a flush doesn't involve replacing the transmission filter - which MB also recommends.
Good Luck

Yeah thats what worries me and if I had the time I would try and just DIY it but my schedule doesn't permit and I am trying to avoid the dealership.
Thanks for the response.
The Benz shop told me that color of the tranny fluid was dark brown to black. So glad its done now.
Total cost was $380 tax in which also included replacement of Tranny filter, gasket, drain/flush as well as a new bolt kit.
Next is the brake fluid change.
