Why my C200 has M271.860 engine instead of M271.820?

Why my C200 has M271.860 engine instead of M271.820?
Just curious. I checked on MANN filter online catalog and it says that C200 has M271.820 engine, while M271.860 is only for C250. But when I looked on my vehicle delivery form, the engine number is 271860-30-522xxx. Did they mistakenly put a C250 engine in my C200? or they don't produce M271.820 anymore and use detuned-software on M271.860 to reduce manufacturing costs?

Try to search it , but diff nummers on diff sites.
I know the engines are the same, only the 250 has a different part number for the turbo

We're still not sure if the turbos are different between the engines or just the tune. I emailed Garrett and they confirmed they are not the OEM supplier so now I'm waiting for Borg to reply to me. I have some ideas on tuning depending on if the turbos are similar or not.

On my datacard I have:
M010 EVO/VEHICLE UPGRADE ENGINES
M013 ENGINE REDUCED PERFORMANCE
M18 DISPLACEMENT 1.8 LITER
M271 R4-GASOLINE ENGINE M271
My understanding is they use M013 SCN coding to limit the power. So, the hardward might be the same. Since, C180 now has M274 1.6-liter engine, they probably produce M271.860 only to simplify the assembly line and just use software to make a C200. If that's the case, whoever has access to STAR can make a C200 become a C250 by erasing M013. Correct me if i'm wrong!

I had acces to EPC and compare almost all parts , and everything between the 180/200/250 had the same part number. Only the turbo had an other number.
I know by the Kompressor M271 , the pistons had diff nummers and many other parts.
I think the M271 Evo is all the same except the SW and maybe the turbo.
But there seen to be no info about the turbo , hope we will ever know

Same question for the current "C300 4Matic" if it is the same but detuned 3.5L M276 engine as in the C350, can the ECU be changed to give the "proper" HP?

I'll shoot KKK and email and see if they are the OEM supplier. If the turbo's are the same then for 180/200 owners theoretically we should be able to just swap in the 250 turbo (maybe also need the injectors) and should see gains from that no?

180 has different compression ratio, so the combustion chamber must be different. But, 200 and 250 have the same compression ratio, that's why I believe the internal parts are the same. Now, the difference can only be the boost...what we wanna know is whether it's a software difference or turbo difference.
