first post and first MB purchase if ever . I was looking at a 2009 C300 miles 46271 for $19,999 non CPO, couple paint knick on the hood. only 1 key no valet and spare. I asked the salesman if he could knock off 999 but the manager said no. Carfax is clean. is it a good deal ?can you guys advice me on what else to look on the car ? thank you

I'm also a recent MB purchaser, so I have very little experience. I think it's important to note that the MBs come with a 4 year 50k mile factory warranty. This has most likely expired on a 2009. From what I've read, people recommend extending the warranty because MBs are pricey when they break. I'd look at how much the extended warranty is going to cost when considering the purchase.

I love my car! I definitely recommend MB.

Does it come with any options or package? You can also check kbb.com and see what the car is going for based on year, mileage, and added options. Base c300 with that mileage on kbb.com retails for $21500 in excellent condition but no one pays retail. And FYI an extra Key fob will cost you $200 and you can only get it from the dealer. Spare tire I'm not so sure what the going price is for it.

Welcome to the forum. I purchased my 19th car last week and have a lot of experience buying from dealers. I can help you here. First off do not get attached to the car yet.

Questions:

Is this from an MB dealer? or at least a mjor brand nae dealer?
Is this the sal price on the car and what was their original price?
Find out the Black book values and retail values and report back to me.

If its not cpo and a brand name dealer, i would check everything mechanical. Check for flood damage too. Alot of the north east used cars has flood damage and it was repaired and does not show on the car fax. Have a mechanic friend take a look at it

+1 - Good points above. Look over the car very well. Spot wat may has been changed and what is definitely original. Check all bolts for the body under hood, lines on car, overspray, interior signs of water, etc...

Totally agree on this too. Some dealers are good at hiding fixes so it's sometimes hard to tell. Dont trust Carfax or Autocheck 100% as they don't always show everything. Taking a mechanic is the best route. If they don't want a mechanic looking at it then thats probably a red flag. If you can't afford a mechanic or dont know one, bring a friend to help you check the car. Below is what I used as a guide when I bought my car. But dont get too excited about the car cause sometimes you might miss things as I did.

not an MB dealer but a major brand dealer but they also an MB dealer .
the price was listed on their website as 19,999
and the manager won't knock off a cent on the price.

In this case they are probably I to it for 18 or 19... how long have they had the car? Check a few other comparables and if it falls in line they its likely on par with a fair deal. Nothing wrong with a fair deal...

I've check around the area and this the price its going for, some of the dealers with the same price are basically just used car dealer lot and I'm not going there for sure. The dealer I'm getting the car from has BMW, MB, Audi Acura and 5 more brand cars. Brother gave me a green light and we are taking home the car. They said the car still have warranty but maybe couple months left, how do I find that out ? for a piece of mind I bought a 4yr/60,000 miles powertrain warranty. now I'm a new owner of 09 C300 awd sport. Palladium Silver with AMG front spoiler and side skirt. now time to put the car seat in the back. lol Thank you all.

Car sounds hot and a good buy. Like I said, the dealer was probably into it for 18 or 19 especially after they ran it through their shop. Enjoy! Not that you have a mental attachment to it, go home and wax her! To check the warranty info, go to MB and they will know when the car was put into service. Palladium Silver is hot as *****... Cheers!
