@Carlos.33193
Did you get the 35W or 50W kits?
Can you post some pictures of the front end with lights and LED on?
Thanks!

I have the DDM kit and had to drill the caps and loosen the bulb screws in housing to fit the thicker plastic DDM bulb surrounding

I got 35W kit, and it's more than enough, it's pure white, picture on iphone makes it look like it glares more than it really does. No one has flashed their lights or said anything to me yet. And when i look at the car standing in front it doesnt blind.

Well, I tried and the ballast wouldn't fit between the bulb frame and the light housing. There's enough room if you could get the ballast to pass this point, but no luck. That being said, aside from mounting, the install took about 60 minutes. The most time consuming part was drilling out the cover for the pass through. A step drill bit works wonders here. The actual bulb install took 15 minutes per side. I just have to decide where to mount the ballast and CANBUS hardware.

The guy who did the YouTube video said that the double black wire was positive and the single negative was inaccurate for the 2010 C300. Mine was the opposite. Single was positive (red) and the double was negative (black). Upon initial start I had no lights and the car reported both bulbs were out. Once I reversed this, all was well.

One other note. If you find the bail that holds the bulb in place requires quite a bit of force, you most likely don't have the bulb seated properly. Rotate the bulb until you feel it sit squarely in the socket.

Driving tonight after dark. I look forward to the view.

I followed the instruction too from you tube on my 09, and it was the opposite like yours. and I have the canbus inside the headlight housing. as for the ballast I mounted it right next to the headlights, it's actually hidden and secure it with a zip tie.

Hey guys, I am having an HID kit installed for me tomorrow from a dealer that says they can get it inside the headlight housing. Very very slim ballast and the product is not that expensive overall. $130 installed actually. I am curious to see how long it lasts, etc. I will let you know tomorrow and others that want everything inside the housing for a clean install.

Cheers,

Adam

So, as I was told, the entire HID kit would not fit inside the headlight housing. I had the ballasts mounted to one of the two bolts near the headlight so the wheels did not have to be pulled, etc. Looks as neat as it car for a simple install. I used a company called NOVA HID and I was blown away with his service and install and the quality of the product. The kits sell for about $80 to $100. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking at doing an HID upgrade. www.novahid.com

Cheers,

Adam

Looks like everyone has a C250 (different headlight) than our C300 dolvio.
I've been looking at both now NovaHID and the Morimoto.

Sorry to bring this old thread back but I'm curious, long term how have the kits that were able to fit entirely in the housing held up?

I had to change one of the canbus harnesses on one side. I don't think it was the heat though because the other side is perfect. Other than that all has been great.

Side question: I have 2012 C300 and as far as i know facelift models have reflectors and not the projectors. So can i still do the Morimoto retrofit without installing the projectors or i absolutely have to to install projector housing as well?

Glad to hear the Morimoto kit is good quality.

I've got a slim ballast 35w 4500k DDM kit in my Audi and I've just never been completely happy with the quality. They take a long time to heat up.

I might have to give this kit and install a try on my c300.

So what is the absolute best/cleanest place to mount ballasts on the c300?
Does anyone have part numbers on the headlamp dust caps?

@IloveC300 - I'm sure you could install the kit on your reflector housing but you'll probably be scattering light all over the place. Personally, I wouldn't do it. I just don't think the quality of light would be there. Then again you could order spare dust caps and just remove them if you do it and it's not a good fit.
