New C180 in Shanghai! My first MB!!
yeeees!!
Today evening I took delivery of my 2013 MB C180 produced in April 2013 :-)
Silver with black leather. Extra was GPS and parking radar.
Tomorrow afternoon im off to install 18inch AMG rims and Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs.
Pictures will follow tomorrow..
And hopefully Sunday I can have the windows tinted..
I have to say I am very impressed with the car so far. Its quite and nice drive and powerwise it has plenty to city driving in Shanghai..
LOVE IT!!!

In this picture, did you happen to meet the person who owned the Black Maserati Quattroporte? Random question but just wondering.

License plate takes a big %! Where is this car made/assembled ?
There is no yellow reflector on the front bumper. Not sure why MB has two flavors, one with one without the reflector. That increases manufacturing cost. I didn't like the separate reflector but the one integrated in the headlight assembly. Now I got used to it.
How is the parking condition in Shanghai? Say you shop along Nanjing Road and want to park at one department store? I hope cars do not easily get dings and scratches ...

Yes, if I remember right, when I was in Singapore in 1988, I was told the imported car has 200% import tariff. A $50,000 car becomes $150,000 ...

Yes also on top on the tax, the permit to have a car on the road is $90,000 and valid for only 10yrs. So to get a Toyota Corolla on the road, it'll cost $120k+. After 10yrs, you'll need to purchase the permit again for market value at that time. Insane...
As for parking in Shanghai, you'll always be able to find it and cheap. However you're car will get dings and scratched like mad. I spend quit a bit of time on finding isolated parking spots with no other cars around me, or I park like a jerk and take up 2spots, then pay the attendant 2x the money. However there's just so many ppl and bikes here, if you do street parking, a bike will scratch your car sooner or later. After a year of owning my car here and being **** about parking, I've been lucky with only one door ding, but tons of scratches.

Im parked in a new building by Wheel Lock Square and ECO Building.. I pay USD240 monthly parking, its gated and have very high security standards. Best thing is that its half empty so no one parks next to my car

nice! for the workplace or home? My work is nice, private grounds with security and gate, real empty. Parking at my current apartment sucks though, no underground parkade, only surface undesignated parking in a crowded complex. I have a choice of either parking under a tree and get bird poop on my car every morning and dents from falling branches, or park near a pedestrian path and risk getting scratched from bikes and mopeds going through (i have a 8 inch long scratch down to the metal on my rear quarter panel from there)
Private parking is as you outside with trees and freaking mops all over the place. I am trying to park a bit away from my house towards a closed street with less traffic... But I wish I had a parking space of my own there too.
