18x8.5 +45 FRONT wheels with 225/40/18 OR 235/40/18

...you are actually running 18x8.5+35

The person you quoted was running +45mm offset; you've got +40mm, and then you've added 5mm spacers, so you're actually +35mm now. Add in that you're running the wrong size tires (which are almost 1" taller than stock) and I'm not surprised that you're rubbing.

Why are you running the 5mm spacers? And why did you buy tires that aren't the right size?
