Anyone running on 18x8.5 +45 offset all around?

Hey guys,

I have a 2010 C300 sport and I want to purchase some 18x8.5 wheels with +45 offset (front and rear). Does anyone have this setup on their car? If so, what size tires do you have? And are they a perfect fit? If you can post pictures of it, that would be greatly appreciated!

I'm hoping to have 18x8.5 +45 offset wheels with 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear for tires. Would this work?

Yes. To prove that, I personally run 18x8.5 +45 FRONT wheels with 225/40/18 tires and 18x9.5 +45 REAR wheels with 255/35/18 tires.

Thanks for that! Would you happen to have a picture of the front wheel (18x8.5)...the tire shop keeps telling me that an 18x8.5 wheel with 225/40/18 tire won't fit the front

I'm running a square setup of 18"x8.5" ET+45 with 235x40x18 front and 245x40x18 rear. Shops don't want to put 225 tires on 8.5 wide wheels because it stretches the tire. I personally agree that you should go with 235.

I'm running 18X8, +45 235/40s all around and love the setup. The addition of width up front and reduction in the rear seems to help the car turn in quicker and makes it easier for our "modest" power to break the rear lose in a tight corner when a little rear drift is helpful. It just seems better balanced.
Honestly, unless you are doing it for looks and want the rears wider, I would go 235/40 or 245/40 all the way around.

From what I can see, great looking wheels. Please advise MFG, Model, size, offset.
Do you have any side photos?
Thanks.

Then those guys are not properly informed. A simple tirerack cross reference shows that the "Rim Width Range" for the stock [ContiProContact] tire in size 225/40R18 is 7.5-9".

I suppose it all depends on the tire you select. For example, if you ran with [Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season] using the same tire size, the "Rim Width Range" is only 7-8.5".

However regardless whichever you select...8.5 is GENERALLY within spec of a 225/40/18 tire.

Ah, that makes much more sense. You're on the ContiProContacts I'm guessing?

Yes. I recycled my stock tires, although I personally can't wait to wear them out so I can get off these H-rated tires.

I'm sure they are. However my next set will be [Continental ExtremeContact DW] unless something better comes out with equal or better tread wear. It's basically a Y-rated tire with a wear rating of 340.

S212 2011 Wagon and Wife's 2014 C350 sedan.
I have a 2011 E350 Wagon. Living in Minnesota, I have been running Michelin Sport A/S Plus for the past two years, 46,000 miles. In January I put a second set on, at 43,000 miles.
In May I put a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports on. I have put 2,400 miles on the new PSS's. What a positive difference! Quiet, great cornering, smooth and much better road handling. I think it is the best tire I have ever had on a car.
I highly recommend them.
I am waiting for my wife's 2014 W204, sitting in Port waiting for release, and when it arrives I will take it directly to Discount Tire and put a set of the new pilot A/S 3 that just came out. Those will be her year round tires.
No connection with Michelin.

I've read very good reviews on them! Haven't seen any negative feedback to be honest.

18x8.5 all around on 225/40/18, +35front, +33 rear. BTW, 8.5in to mm is 215 so a 225 is more than acceptable. Dunno what shops are calling that stretched.

I don't understand..225 tires are 8.86" width. How is that stretching the tire?

W204 Wheels

Hey guys, I was planning on purchasing new wheels for my car. I have a 2012 C300 Sport 4Matic. The rims are 18x8.5 and I was just curious if these would fit the car and what tire size would be best. I'm not looking to modify anything and not looking for rubbing either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Also, my current tire/wheel sizes are:
Front:
Tire: 225/45 R17, Wheel: 17x7.5
Back: 245/40 R17, Wheel: 17x8.5

Oh wow okay. I was told if i ran that set up with any offset below +40 my fenders would just eat into my tires if I hit potholes, etc.

Hey could you confirm this with me your exact car model and that your tires arent being hit by your fender. Also could you send some pictures of your set up. Any help would be great, looking to buy the same 18x8.5 et35 set up. Pm me if you can thanks.
