Hello all, I hope I'm in the right place. Just picked up a 2010 c300 sport. It's a great car so far.

One question that I hope it's not a dumb one... Is there a way to increase and decrease the lighting on the dash controls? Such as where the gear shifter and the heat/ac controls are? I can barely see them when it's dark. They are really dim. I have to turn the light on to see where I turn the fan blower up or down. Thank you in advance. Hopefully ill be contributing to this forum as much as possible

Pete

On the rim of the dash, left side (in front of the cruise control stalk), there is a small round button, turn that button clockwise will increase the brightness, counter clockwise will decrease. Have time to read your manual to familiar with the new car !

Congrats on the C300 and welcome!
As SoCal alluded to, you can find most everything you need in the owners manual or through a quick search of the threads and of course we have experts on most everything for the weird and harder stuff.

Awesome, thanks for that tip. That knob worked. I've skimmed through the manual but must've over looked that part. Next is trying to pair my phone but the Bluetooth is being stubborn. Hell, it took me a while to figure out how to pop the hood. Thanks again for the help. Now I need to go for a drive!

I find it dark in the cabin at night too, even with the interior light knob set at full. I wish it was like the E where that outside 1cm bezel of the dome light stays on all the time and you can adjust its brightness.

I wish... I don't think it's possible with our w204's since there's only one bulb in that dome. In the E, the surrounding bezel has it's own bulb (or source of light) because I can change the intensity independently of the dome. It's like a white 1 cm border around the front and rear dome lights and it stays on at all times and has 5 levels of brightness and is controlled through the system menu on the instrument cluster. When I saw that our dome had that same 1cm border, I thought it would have it as well...

Do the pre-facelifts not have ambient lighting in the rearview mirror/door handles/door pulls/under the dash?

They do but it is really only noticeable when it is really dark outside. Most city dwellers really don't notice it unless they look hard.
