Anyone updated their 08-11' w204 to the latest 2013.1 (v12) maps on Comand NTG4?

I would like to know how you successfully managed to do the 2013 (v12) map update because to my unfortunate surprise, my Comand jammed after finishing the 1st disc this morning.

On the screen it said to insert disk 2 but the eject button wasn't ejecting the 1st disc. Nothing was working no matter what I tried. The screen was stuck at "insert disk 2".

I had to go to the dealer and they luckily managed to eject disk 1 (which was in slot 1) with Star/Xentry diagnostics. They then inserted disk 2 and thankfully the update properly finished and all is fine now. The technician said I was very lucky or else $$$$$.

Now, in the past, the dvd map updates were fitted on 1 disc and I've had no problems in the past. This year, there are 2 DVDs.

I don't understand why on this year's map update I couldn't eject the 1st disk and had to go to the dealer for this. After the update was done, everything on my Comand was working again and the eject button is also working again.

The technician suggested for next year to have it done at the dealer in case something goes wrong, its the dealer's responsibility (no additional cost).

I had the same exact issue with the 2-disc update. Must be a glitch. I got it to spit out the first disc by shutting down the car, turn back on and hit the "eject" push button before the system could think about what it should do. It went to the disc eject screen, allowed me to eject the first disc, and then the second disc update finished ok. I really hope future updates are on a single disc!

Thanks for confirming the issue. I'm sure I tried what you did but I could be wrong. I had the dealer deal with it. I'll know for next time.

I seriously doubt future updates will revert back on a single disc. There's more roads, POIs, etc so the 2nd disc will have more data.

But I agree that this year's update is a little stupid the way they managed it.

1st Disc = 8GB
2nd Disc = 315MB (cmon)

Thanks
